How do we Change the World?

Can we change it? If so, how?

There are many injustices in life. The world is hanging in the balance between a spiritual warfare that many don’t believe in. So how do we make a difference?

Where do we begin?

It starts, with our children. And, more specifically, more importantly, it starts with YOU. Whether you’re a parent, relative, teacher, legal guardian: YOU have the power to make a difference. Children are essential in shaping and paving the way for a brighter future. But in order to guide them in the right direction, we, as adults, need to step up and be the right model.

Think back to your childhood. What do you remember? How were you raised? How did society treat you?

We all have the world in our hands. The question is, what are we going to do about it?
We all have a hand in the world. Some choose to do good with it. Some choose to do the opposite. What will you choose?

We all have a hand in what goes on in our world; whether we’re conscious about it or not. Our actions affect others, even in the slightest way; be it positive or negative.

Maybe it shouldn’t. Maybe we should be strong enough to not let others dictate how we should respond and react. But let’s be honest. We’re social creatures and our day to day interactions mold us into who we are today.

Now imagine being a child again and how impressionable and trusting we are by nature into the very hands of those who raise us. What better timeframe to teach them the most important aspect of our purpose here than during the more pure, unbiased, pivotal moments of their life?

And what is our purpose, you may ask? Why, it’s so simple, so obvious, so unassuming, that we can easily overlook it if we’re not paying attention.

It's to LOVE one another.

30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:30-31
How do we change the world? We love one another. True, genuine, unconditional love.
How do we end war? Love. How do we end world hunger? Love. How do we end abuse, violence, hatred? Love.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
Corinthians 13:4-8

Love has many different perspectives, but the core, fundamental idea behind this very important force, is to grow in unconditional compassion and kindness towards each other.

We all could benefit from humbly learning to hold our family and friends (and enemies alike!) in mutual respect and reverence. Our purpose is selfless service to others and to spread unconditional love no matter who it is and no matter where we go.

This holds especially true with children. They are naturally born to receive their parents/guardians as their protector, supporter and hold them in the highest regards with as much devotion and innocence a being can give that has yet to be tainted by a sometimes harsh society. True this may be due to the human condition of reliance since a baby/child has no other option than to submit to their caregiver. And this goes hand in hand with their predisposition at such a young age, as we all once were (and as part of the limitations of any physical body), of survival.

Be a Compassionate Mentor/Teacher

And herein lies the opportunity for the best teachable moments in our life. During these times, when a baby is going through their natural survival instincts and into their childhood with interacting with others, it is crucial to teach them about:

The best things to teach children? Not regular school subjects...
When is the best time to teach love and compassion? Do we even think about it? We should be teaching these very important values as soon as they're born.
  •    love
  •    trust
  •    caring
  •    sharing
  •    patience
  •    kindness
  •    tolerance
  •    forgiveness
  •    compassion
  •    selflessness
  •    understanding
  • Isn’t it amazing that our children learn everything from their A, B, C’s to quantum physics when they’re in school? Yet, when do they really learn about love and forgiveness? Do parents effectively teach these extremely important attributes? Or do we take it for granted that children will learn it on their own? Maybe we should put more emphasis on these subjects than academic knowledge… (at least in their early years).

These will be very important stepping stones in helping them overcome the potential trials and tribulations they may encounter while growing up and having to come face to face with making their own decisions.

The best way for a child to learn how to be loving and compassionate, is by example. When they are taught how to be kind and empathetic, by observing and receiving these actions, it helps develop their own state of mind and lifestyle.

    Have Integrity

Doing the right thing may seem hard to some people, especially if they feel as if there’s an “easier” way of doing things. Or if they were raised in an environment that wasn’t quite conducive to making the right choices.

Sadly, some children around the world grow up in abusive households, and/or drug addicted parents, alcoholics, corrupted orphanages, foster care, homelessness, etc. In some cases, it is because a child is defenseless and powerless that they are abused and taken advantage of. It is absolutely heartbreaking, because instead of those meant to protect them, these people instead exert their power and authority over them just because they can.

This is the background some children have lived in and is all they’ve ever known. And so when they grow up and have children of their own, they unwittingly make the same choices. Not knowing that there’s a different way; and so the vicious cycle continues.

Perhaps you know from firsthand experience what I’m talking about. And it takes a lot of courage, strength, and inner light to make the conscious decision to get out of that cycle and into a mindful awareness to choose to raise your children in a different way; and to never subject them to a cruel, dark, abusive lifestyle.

Now, here’s the thing: if we could ALL reach this level of awareness and compassion towards one another, then slowly but surely our world will be transformed and we will start seeing less war, less hunger, less suffering, less hate; and more peace, more abundance, more happiness, and more love.

    Forgive and Pray

Forgiveness is another huge factor in this journey of changing the world. How do we expect to change the world if we’re still holding on to our grudges, bitterness, wrongdoings…? The key to be set free from that is to forgive ourselves, and to forgive others.

This is one of the most important (and difficult) aspects of this pursuit. To forgive and love our enemies in kind. It is quite easy to love our sweet grandparents, or our adorable children, or our doting spouse; even our loyal and wonderful pets.

But on the other hand… when we have a troublesome co-worker, a bully in school, a difficult ex, a hardened criminal… things get A LOT tougher.

So this is when we pray, and love, and have faith that the Lord hears us. And if not working a miracle of a change in heart for those we pray for, then to pray for a change of heart for ourselves that we can forgive them and not hold any grudges; for true love is unconditional.

27 But to you who are listening I say, "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
    Luke 6:27-28
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
    Ephesians 4:31-32

    Be a Humble Student

One last note, looking back to where I mentioned how little children hold their caregiver in high regard… In reality, WE should hold THEM in high regard. We should honor and care for them and treat them with the utmost respect and look to them to re-learn how to be humble and forgiving.

Most children will have retained their loving, forgiving demeanor until it is (sometimes) quashed by the harsh corruption of those “in charge”. Why would we want to be a part of this destruction? Their innocence and pure love should be cherished and valued. Why do some feel the need to take advantage of this and ruin it?

(Perhaps there is something to the spiritual warfare that has a role in this type of abomination that wants to destroy the loving part of humanity…)

If we take considerations on the innocence and inherent goodness of little children, perhaps we can re-learn how to be loving, forgiving, caring and humble.

    – Young girl tells her mom that she is taking too much candy while out trick-or-treating. After seeing a bowl of candy with a note asking trick-or-treaters to please take one or two, the mom instead takes huge handfuls, despite her young daughter trying to tell her to put it back.

Even though this is one of the less severe forms of what parents “inadvertently” (or sometimes on purpose) teach their children, it is still a lesson on how to have integrity and teach our children right from wrong; not the other way around.

Instead of us corrupting children, let’s learn from them.

16 Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.
    Luke 18:16-17
2 And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, 3 and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of Heaven. 4 Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.
    Matthew 18:2-4

So how do we change the world?

It starts with you. It starts with me. It starts with our children.

We forgive and love and pray. We teach our children to do the same.

And it must be said, we need to take care of the Earth, as well. The constant pollution to our land and water will be extremely detrimental not only to our health, but to our state of mind as well. Having the respect and reverence for nature will keep it beautiful and abundant.

When each of us, one by one, come to this realization and work on bettering ourselves and the world in general, then we will become the example for future generations to follow, and bliss and happiness will prevail.

Apocalyptic world. We can choose to not let this happen.
Beautiful mountains. Mother nature is equally as important as teaching our children the art of love and compassion. We should be taking care of the Earth as well.
"Be the change you want to see in the world."

    The Problem With Reviews

Do you know how to spot a fake review?

    My Journey Into Blogging...
(and how I found a lot of questionable material.)

What do you do, when you get this nagging suspicion that the reviews you're reading on an item, are either too good to be true, or a downright hustle?

Huge glowing sign of Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada.
Prime place to hustle or be hustled? Or does the internet have it beat?

Unfortunately, I was presented with this exact dilemma while searching for a “great” web host provider.

Oh, sure, I came across a TON of reviews that claimed that so-and-so provider is the best, top-notch, can’t be beat, etc. Seems pretty tempting, right?

And the prices were amazing! $2.95 a month for a whole year?! Yes, please!

The huge caveat to this very tempting deal, is that this is most often the bare-minimum of services that the provider will offer, and in order for a more developed and higher form of quality standard of everything, including security, storage space, support, etc., the prices can go up dramatically. And I understand: you get what you pay for. But when comparing certain services and deals to others, plus comparing other… “legit?” reviews, this fascinating, awesome, wonderful website host provider doesn’t seem so amazing any more.

That brings me to the actual reviews.

In my search for a decent provider, I came across too-many to count blogs, websites, articles, etc. claiming that a particular provider is THE best, and, by the way, “if you sign up with MY link, you get an extra 60% off the normal price!”

I’m sure if you’ve come across this page you’ve encountered the same thing and learned that this is what is known as an affiliate link. This is one way bloggers, website developers, and so on earn money. And I’m not knocking this type of sponsorship. I understand that it’s a legitimate way of making money online and plan to do it myself. But I do have reservations when someone advertises a product that they (perhaps) have not used and/or are solely promoting it based on monetary gain.

I don’t know about you, but it immediately conjures up this image in my mind:

Combined images from OpenClipart-Vectors and VintageSnipsAndClips - Pixabay

Now, again, I have no problems with people sponsoring their products or other products that they actually endorse. But when they advocate for a product simply for monetary gain… that’s where the issue lies. (Literally.)

How Do You Know Which Review to Trust?

Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits all. But there are clues in helping you to make an educated discernment.

    – Is the person telling facts, and not just heaping praise? Be wary of a very highly overpraised product. Chances are it is a paid/endorsed sponsorship and not a legitimate review.

    – Does the reviewer have any incentive to “exaggerate” or “lie”? (monetary gain, for example?)

    – Ask yourself if there is a possible relation with the business. (Such as family member, owner, workers, friends, stock/shareholders, etc. If this is the case, chances are the reviews are fake.)

    – Is the person listing pros and cons? (This is not always the case, however. If it is a product I fully endorse and find no faults with, there wouldn’t be much negative to say about it).

    – Make sure you look at reviews from a myriad of different sources. (Don’t just look at reviews from one website – especially not the website that owns the product).

    – Try to look for individualized reviews, instead of a big name website that will, more often than not, steer you into a specific decision. This is a direct marketing tactic in which these websites make money through from their “advice” and advertisement.

    – In some cases, the less reviews, the better. A lot of people will only leave a review if their experience is a negative one. Rarely do people leave a positive review unless directed to, or unless they had a remarkably good experience.

    – Be wary of paid testimonials. (How will you know for sure? A lot of the times, you won’t. But just knowing that these exist will help you look at it with a critical eye and make better judgments.)

    Perfect Example of Fake Reviews/Testimonies:

    CBC News - youtube

In 2017, CBC News uncovered this scam of people being paid to give false testimonies/reviews. One lady (who went by the username “sanpan”) even went so far as to pose as a licensed dietician to promote diet pills.

Although the company “Fiverr” who employs these people for their freelance services had this disclaimer on their site: “The testimonials they provide on your behalf are paid, promotional materials, and you should indicate this to your customers.”, the reliance on the business and “paid actors” to be upfront and honest about this has regrettably fallen through the cracks.

This video also recognizes Scott Stratten, who exposed the phone company Bell Mobility for having their own employees leave fake reviews for their newest app. You can read his article here.

    Conscious Awareness

The lack of moral compass that some individuals have is a dire situation in the nature of human ethics. This can be attributed to greed, selfishness, indifference, desperation, ignorance, etc. Or any combination of the above.

No one wants to be scammed, but it seems many people are willing to be the scammer. Where did “integrity” go? Is our greed and self-gain so important that we’re willing to sellout (or sell our soul) for material possessions? (That’s an interesting word… possession.)

And even if these people are doing this because they feel as if this is the only way to make a living, I would have to disagree. This is no “living”. This is conning, manipulating, deceiving, lying and stealing.

I think it will be an amazing time when people can finally think of others and refuse to partake in such actions.

    Do I believe it's possible?

    Yes. I truly do.

Maybe that’s me being highly optimistic, but I honestly believe that once people realize the hurt and pain they are causing others (which, in turn, comes back to them), they will be more self-aware and conscious of their decisions, and start taking steps to better themselves and help others.

    A Different Kind of Review

SIDE NOTE: Sometimes, I fear what I’m going to see in my life review. Some of the negativity that I have spread I have reflected upon, and am ashamed at my actions. When we come upon our life review, we will see the hurt and deception we have caused others. Not only see it. We will feel it, as well.

Don’t believe in the life review? That is for each person to decide. I will not tell you what to believe one way or another. But during my experiences and research, find it fascinating that so many people, on their death bed, DO encounter this phenomena. Even if some people speculate that it is “just a brain trauma”, the fact that so many people come to this realization seems too important to ignore. Would cause one to consider that there is a reason they came back with that message.

On the bright side, I do see people making a difference and doing the right thing, and want to thank them for setting a wonderful example for others to see. They are the true heroes, and should be heralded and celebrated.

How Do We Find the Truth?

What if the “truth” we see, is built upon lies?

In this day and age, it seems that no matter where we turn, we’re confronted with “misinformation”, “fake news”, “deepfakes”, etc., etc., etc.

Where does it end? How do we get to the truth?

Being as this site is named: “Expanding Awareness Relations”, my first rule of thumb is to present the Truth. And with that came the investigation into how to find it.

But I didn’t realize what a wild ride it would take me on.

During my own time, I like to look up information and research different topics that interest me and that are a concern for the world.

An unsettling realization came over me when digging into certain subjects. Mainly that, the more I started looking, studying, researching… the closer I got to looking at (what I thought was) the “truth”, the more it looked to be lies, falsehoods, fabrications, embellishments; tightly woven together to give an impression of truth.

It took me aback. It made me come to the cold, chilling revelation that perhaps the things we’re being told, or have learned/been conditioned with, are not true at all.

I have already made a post about the news media, When News Media Lies, but this topic stretches even further back. Back into our history, ancient civilization, even the beginning of “time”.

    Think about it.

We all had to come from somewhere, right?

Whoever was the first man to walk upon the Earth knew the beginning. Where did he come from? Are we to really believe that man evolved from primates? And even if that were the case, where did the primates come from? Or any of the creatures living on this planet in general? Just randomly created particles and atoms that developed further and further until it became the life that we know today?

For that matter (ha! See what I did there?), where did consciousness come from?

It is becoming more and more clear that consciousness is an extremely important point that we need to address. We also need to seriously contemplate consciousness as having the answers to the many questions posed around us. And although scientists, researchers, philosophers, etc. have been studying this topic for centuries, I feel as if we still haven’t even scratched the surface of what this phenomena entails.

Image by Garik Barseghyan from Pixabay

Now, I won’t get into the discussion about what consciousness is (yet… but look out for a post that delves into this mystery later), since this topic is about discovering the “truth”.

So… the beginning of time (as we know it). Homo sapiens eventually came in to the knowledge of consciousness and the study of the nature around us. All of our current beliefs have formed and developed since the beginning. It either evolved, or stayed the same. Each of us have our origins and our ancestors.

And our ancestors had their ancestors. And so on and so forth. A family tree, if you will. This goes on since, literally, the beginning of our time. We are ALL a part of someone who lived from the beginning. My parents had their own parents, they had parents of their own, etc., etc.

Now, imagine a group of people who DO know their history and their ancestry, and the truth of the beginning of human beings on the planet. Is it that farfetched to believe that a certain group of people or peoples could know exactly where they’re from? And if you wanted to continue your heritage and lineage, you would want to make sure your descendants understand your beliefs and keep it alive, right? What if the truth is significant, and those that know it want to keep it from the rest of the world?

Just an interesting proposal for people to consider.

    Misinformation, Lies and Deception

In this section, the focus is on how easy it is to be misled from believing one thing, to another, to another… and so on and so forth.

For example, in our current time, we are dealing with a “covid” crisis that presents us with so many conflicting “data”, “facts”, “information”, that it’s hard to tell what to believe and what could possibly be an agenda to something deeper and stranger than we are willing to accept.

    Conspiracy theorist?

    Mmmm… maybe. (Or maybe not.)

    – that the term “conspiracy theorist” was popularized and used by the C.I.A. in their dispatch report with the aim to “provide material for countering and discrediting the claims of the conspiracy theorists.”? – CIA dispatch report

    – that the C.I.A. encouraged “employing propaganda assets to answer and refute the attacks of the critics”? – CIA dispatch report

    – that the C.I.A. partnered with, and I quote, “liaison and friendly elite contacts (especially politicians and editors)…and urge them to use their influence to discourage unfounded and irresponsible speculation?” (according to whom…?) –
    CIA dispatch report

Did you know that there are 15 former CIA/FBI/national intelligence agents that are employed at CNN/MSNBC? (reported from, dated Aug 23, 2019).

    Conspiracy theories?

    Nope. Just cold, hard facts.

But perhaps this judgment is unfair.

In a plot twist of events, let’s give the C.I.A. and the news media the benefit of the doubt. Let’s say that whatever they’ve reported or allegedly covered up was an honest-to-goodness mistake.

    No, really, bear with me.

So, even if that was the case, how would that explain all these other “conspiracy theories” that turned out to be true?:

Operation Northwoods –  “a plan by the US Joint Chiefs of Staff to commit acts of domestic terrorism on home soil and blame it on Cuba.” “The plan was ultimately rejected by President Kennedy. Some contend that this was what led to his assassination.”

Gulf of Tonkin incident – a staged attack to give the US a reason to wage war on Vietnam. The “incident” was swiftly spun by media and politicians as a ruse for entering the war.” “By 1969 over 500,000 American troops were involved in the war effort.”

CIA Mind Control – MK-Ultra – program in which the CIA ran mind control experiments on citizens from 1950 to 1973, according to official documentation.” “CIA veteran Victor Marchetti reported that CIA mind control continues and the abandonment of the program was a mere cover up.”

    Information from:

The CIA Controlled Journalists and the Media – otherwise known as Operation Mockingbird, is a CIA program, stated by Katherine Graham, “that paid or threatened movers and shakers of many, if not all, of the most popular news outlets in America.” And that “the media was controlled as a tool by political operatives at one time (at least).”

International Elite Gather Together Regulary – most of these “conspiracy theories” used to be scoffed at by… well, the majority of people. Until they’re proven true. The Bilderberg meetings involves a group of “high-ranking figures” that meet once a year. “Although the guest lists for these meetings are typically not a secret, the discussions that take place are. Past guests have included monarchs, high-ranking politicians, senior military officials, economic leaders, and powerful journalists.”

It Wasn’t Hitler’s Skull – Hitler is widely believed to have killed himself in 1945. Luckily, the Russian government just happened to have a remnant of Hitler’s “purported” skull. “Long purported to be Hitler’s skull, the tests revealed that the skull was actually that of a young woman. Ironically, the tests were done to lessen the credibility of the conspiracy theorists.”

    Information from:

Okay, so, granted, giving them the benefit of the doubt didn’t last long.

Perhaps you’ll say that they might have perfectly reasonable explanations for relying on underhanded tactics to gain the advantage. And I might even agree with you, to a certain point. If the event is legitimately a threat, and not simply an excuse as a means to gain some corrupted form of power (as an example…).

    Investigate, Research

As with everything, I encourage everyone to not just believe these accounts being told, but to do their own research as well. It is time consuming, which is why I think a lot of people will just believe the report coming from someone else, especially if they are an expert in their field. After all, they have credibility, reputation, experience…

However, one thing we need to seriously consider is if these experts have people’s best interest in mind. I don’t think one realizes how easy it is to be bribed and/or threatened. Or, for that matter, the (lack of) moral compass of an individual who will do things in the name of science, greed or power (or all of the above).

With that being said, with simply trusting others to give us the information, it gives us free time to do our own hobbies, errands, work, etc. But honestly, this does everyone a disservice. This is keeping us uninformed and following along with whatever agenda could be propagated. Most people might not care, yet, until it becomes too far. And by then, we just have to hope it’s not too late. Which is why the sooner we open our eyes and look around to realize what’s going on, the better.

To make matters even more complicated, there’s the unfortunate problem of people simply not believing the truth when it hits them.

In one personal experience, while relating some of the dubious events going on in the world, I told this person straight up, “Yes. “So and so” admitted, on camera, that what people are saying about him is TRUE.”, he still gave me this look like he couldn’t believe what I was saying. I told him, “Watch the video. It’s right there.”

It was a simple matter of him not wanting to believe it. People will still cling on to their disbelief and wonder, “Well, why? It doesn’t make sense.” and that’s exactly why the truth escapes some people and they’re easy to mislead.

And that’s another excellent question to ask.

“Why?” It’s important to contemplate (as “wild” and “crazy” as some theories sound) the different possibilities of why an event would be twisted to conform to a specific point of view.

    Digging Deeper

That brings me to this following case, which, I didn’t want to believe this author’s account, because anytime there’s a possibility of further understanding of the Bible, it immediately intrigues me. (Even if this evidence seems to contradict the Bible. The Gnostic Gospel is something I’ve been digging into, as well as other cultural religions. Learning about different facets of our history, heritage, past, etc. would be a huge stepping stone in learning the truth.) But because of the overwhelming connections and evidence he presented, it was almost impossible to deny.

It’s probably one of the most in-depth researches I’ve seen to get to the truth, or at least reveal more information to provide more background on a particular topic (of extreme importance to many people), and is reported by Ariel Sabar with his investigation into the “Gospel of Jesus’s Wife” papyrus that Karen King presented in 2012.

This article – “The Unbelievable Tale of Jesus’s Wife“, uncovered a lot of detail about where this papyrus allegedly came from. Tracking down the provenance and the identity of who submitted this artifact took him to many places across the globe, including Massachusetts, Rome, Florida, and Germany. And yes, while Sabar had the means to visit these places as his role was to specifically research this potentially significant turning point in our history (his job being designated by the Smithsonian), a lot of us would be hard pressed to find the time and resources available to do this. But looking at all of his observations and investigations, provides us with a good example on what a great journalist/reporter should be doing:

    Researching. Digging. Questioning.

It’s also important to have some personal qualities as well:

    Integrity. Critical thinking skills. Perseverance.

(I should add, even though his findings were that of a probable forgery, that still doesn’t discount other “clues” that the Bible might be withholding more secrets than we thought possible. (Or that others are withholding information from the Bible, or about the Bible…))

But his journalism and efforts to reveal the findings behind this papyrus go above and beyond what I, personally (and I’m sure many others), are used to seeing in news reports. And, to add even further conundrums, in order to believe Sabar’s account, we would have to submit ourselves to the same exact research on his credibility, as well as reach out to Karen King and Walter Fritz ourselves to really start to understand the truth, instead of automatically believing someone else’s account.

…See how complicated it is? But this is the best way to get to the bottom of a subject. (And, at one point in this papyrus saga, according to Walter Fritz, all of his contacts were, sadly (but conveniently?), no longer among the living, so was impossible to get their testimonies…)

    What is a Deepfake?

To wrap up, I leave you with these videos of deepfakes, in case some of you were wondering what that was:

In today’s age, technology is so far advanced that we can never be too sure that what we’re seeing is actually reality…

Which is why it’s more important than ever to learn how to get to the truth.
