Can someone tell me why a military project named the BEAST – which stands for “Battle Engagement And Simulation Tracking” or “Battle Engagement Area Simulator/Tracker”, has a smiley face emoticon at the end of the acronym?
Even as far back as 2005/2006 – where this page was captured on the webarchive for the first time, has that rather ominous smiley face emoji next to it.
So… what is the reason for this? Did the person who entered this in the website just think, “Wow! “Battle engagment and simulation tracking”? That sounds amazing! So amazing, that I feel the need to express my excitement and joy at this prospect by adding in a smiley face so others can share in my joy!”
Was this an actual legitimate entry, from the initiators of this certain project? Did the data entry person add it in out of sarcasm/distaste?
I don’t know. But the fact that it’s there, seems a bit foreboding and EXTREMELY out of place. Since I’ve been on the topic of A.I., perhaps the computer program read this particular line and felt the need to add it in itself. (That’s, of course, a sardonic assertion, with no hint of seriousness, but in light of the technological advancements and interest in “unlocking the true potential of A.I.”, I wouldn’t doubt it.)
Now, to get into the nitty gritty of this “BEAST” project, what does it entail?
Well… that’s where I came across an even deeper rabbit hole of sorts.
BEAST project started by DARPA
Firstly, according to a researchgate (pdf) publication about the BEAST program, written in October 1990:
“The present report is intended as a major progress report of a project started originally under DARPA/ISTO sponsorship and now continuing under direct SDIO support.”

It’s main goals are the following:
The project’s purposes are to successfully apply parallel and supercomputer technology to the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization (SDIO) battle management tracking problems, and to develop software and algorithms appropriate for new, highly parallel supercomputer architectures.
The preliminary implementation of BEAST performs five “operations”:
- Model conflict scenarios (ground truth) consisting of tens of thousands of targets, decoys, sensors, weapon satellites, and other objects in orbit or on ballistic trajectories,
- Simulate in a single system the sampling of ground truth by many loosely coupled sensors to produce contact reports from all sensors in a parallel fashion,
- Construct and maintain in real time the necessary composite data structures containing reports from multiple sensors and tracks as the sensor reports are generated,
- Process and analyze the data, producing projections of tracks tagged with estimated target identities and generating new track automatically,
- Model interactions and decisions by battle management analysis systems using these parallel data bases constructed in MLG form.
The last item in the list includes many important aspects of the SDIO battle management problem which the BEAST project is only treating in a cursory way. These parts are evaluating tactical threats to defensive sensors, communication and weapon platform satellites, weapons allocation against detected targets, kill assessments, strategic assessment, and target discrimination.

MARCC – Multiple Automated Readout Computer Chip
Now if it ended there, that would be bad enough. But no. There’s more.
After looking up more information about this BEAST project, it led me to this interesting inquiry that was allegedly asked on January 3rd, 2000. Granted it came from a website labeled “rumormillnews” so take that as you will, but the fact that there is indeed a program called BEAST with the same acronym that is mentioned on the rumormillnews is intriguing enough.
However, after reading the contents, it mentioned a couple of other interesting leads to go down.

So yes. It references a “MARCC”, in addition to the BEAST. But surely there’s no way the MARCC is legitimate as well, right?

Although there is a slight difference in the acronym (chip vs. card, for example), the concept remains the same. “Multi-Automated Reader Card” – under the Government & Military filter.
And for additional reference, while there are not many websites at all that mentions this particular MARC(C), I did manage to find the following:

So it would seem as if the MARC(C) that is mentioned in conjunction with the BEAST system/technology both originate from the DOD/DARPA institutions. And they have been heavily invested in implanting everyone with a microchip (under the false guise of medical/health reasons).

Considering that the same company who has been making worldwide surveillance technologies and weapons of mass destruction also wants to implant everyone with a tracking biochip, I’d say that people would have to be VERY careful before believing that this is for altruistic/philanthropic reasons.
But what about the “Project Tessara” that’s mentioned in the “rumormillnews” website? Again, 21 years ago in the year 2000, if the post is legitimate and accurate.
Well, yes. There’s information on that as well. Although again, very little.

Now, what are their agendas and/or products?

This was just a small list/section of the entirety of their webpage. So comparing the agendas and manufacturing processes of TESSERA Inc.’s products, they certainly do match pretty closely with the BEAST technology mentioned at the beginning of this post.
And as we can see in the blue tabs of the above image, the organizations involved in such projects include The Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
By the way, in Italian, tessera means “card”. (MARC – Multi-Technology Automated Reader Card…?)
Now, I wish I could say that was all I found.
But sadly, no. No it was not.
This next reveal, takes us back to an extremely dark implication, and involves one of the biggest conspiracies of our time.
The Tessera Project (Short Film 2007)
While researching more information on the Tessera project, I came across a rather disturbing video.
The video was uploaded to youtube in 2007, in two parts, by ChrisRyan156. These are the only two videos he has uploaded to youtube.

“Hey Guys, Christopher Ryan here, The other day I was watching the news and saw just like everyone else, that the CIA had destroyed interrogation tapes. My dad won’t admit it, but he works for the CIA, I think. I remembered him talking to my mom, and he mentioned something about the tapes. The next day I went into his home office and found it in a locked drawer. They made a video out of if it, to teach the millitary how to do this kind of stuff, it’s called the tessera project. This was so Crazy, I just had to share with all of you, so i decided to put it on youtube. Don’t tell anyone, I don’t want my dad to get in trouble.” – ChrisRyan156
Of course, posting a suspicious video to youtube is the last thing you want to do if you don’t want people to tell others. So it seems as if this is just a marketing ploy to promote their film/video.
Indeed, since it is also listed in IMDB, with a different synopsis, but with the same name:
“The Tessera Project is an informative video produced by the Smith and Mitchell Corporation commissioned by the Department of Defense to shed light on the Enhanced Interrogation Techniques used domestically during the War on Terror that proceeded 9/11.” — Christopher Ryan
Now, if we take this synopsis as fact, then again we have the Department of Defense coming up. And it mentions 9/11 as the reason that the Tessera Project was enacted. (Of course, 9/11 is one of the largest controversies of our time since there is a lot of evidence pointing to the fact that this was an inside job, and from our own government, no less. – But that is a different extensive rabbit hole altogether.)
HOWEVER, if this video is true and it really was commissioned by the DoD, that does not explain why Project Tessera was mentioned in 2000, on the rumormillnews website. Assuming that the emails were not tampered with and the dates are legitimate, then Project Tessera was first mentioned OVER A YEAR before Sept. 11, 2001. The Project Tessera film leads us to believe that the project was initiated in order to stop future terrorists because of the attacks that happened in New York City, 2001. But again, if the date on the email is accurate, TJ Hines mentioned this project in January 2000.
There are also large implications that physically and psychologically torturing suspects is justifiable in order to “extract information” from them. As we can see in the video, because the briefcase that the suspect was allegedly holding contained a bomb, the DoD (and/or the filmmaker) is using that as an excuse that “Enhanced Interrogation Techniques” is necessary to “get what they want”.
It is a very disturbing and Machiavellian prospect all around.
And because I like to read text in order to really focus on the scope of these things, I have offered the full transcript of the video in question as well for the readers to take in. Please keep in mind that I am not sure of the legitimacy of the video and if it really was commissioned by the DoD as an “Informative Video”, or if it is simply a short film mockumentary.
But considering the deceptive and manipulative tactics of these government agencies, and their agendas at using psychological operations and wanting everyone to believe a lie (CIA), I have not jumped to any conclusions. Only to say that their involvements in multiple different projects are NOT for the benefit of humankind, but instead a means to defend their own institutions and agendas.

Now, who could have imagined that all of this information came from a simple, innocuous (unsettling) smiley face emoji at the end of a project (named BEAST, for one…) that is used for tracking/surveilling and battling designated targets?
And then, of course, we have to ask ourselves – who do they determine as their “targets”?

Fact checking is extremely important. I want to reiterate not to take everything at face value; no matter what you read, where you read it from, or who you hear it from. And to be clear, do not rely on “fact checking” websites to give you accurate information either.
