You Are Much More Than You Realize | But You Need to Believe It

What do you believe in? Do you REALLY believe it?

I don’t normally write opinionated or speculative pieces on this website; usually I try and provide informational articles or transcripts, or a collection of important subjects to consider, etc.

However, this is also incredibly important and I was due for some serious reflection when considering human nature and its connection to energy/vibration/frequency/etc.

I come across a lot of theories that our thoughts form the world around us. If that’s the case, then would a worldwide focus on disease and sickness literally create this mindset that we’re all in? Would a collective consciousness, mainly focused on one thing, bring it to being?

There’s so much to unravel when diving into this subject, and of course I’m not going to come to a clear-cut conclusion, because I have no professional knowledge about metaphysics or quantum mechanics, but I do want to bring up the topic just for deliberation.

Imagine all of the influences that shape your view of the world today. Imagine how you thought of the world when you were younger. Is the stark difference (if any) between the two due to knowledge and experience, simply growing up and learning more about the world around you? Or was it due to outside sources shaping your feelings, emotions, thoughts, patterns? (A combination of both? A nature versus nurture/parental/societal upbringing?)

Let’s take this website, for example. Am I unknowingly feeding into the negativity, fear, chaos, confusion, low-vibration energies that I would like humanity to rise out of? By comprising a lot of the articles with negative topics – granted due to wanting to inform readers of the events that are going on around us – I can’t help but feel as if I’m contributing to spreading the anxiety, fears, panic, etc.

This is not my intention, but the sentiment remains.

There is also the fact of the matter that there are studies that people are naturally drawn to “bad news” rather than good news. Sure it could be from a tendency to be aware of our surroundings and be alert so that we can know what actions to take, but one could also argue that this isn’t the case because of the lack of action to prevent or change these certain things from happening. So then the question becomes, why are we drawn to negativity instead of seeking the positive?

Perhaps a twisted curiosity of the chaotic events surrounding us? A slight obsession to keep ourselves informed of all the bad/evil things occurring in the world, yet offering little to no action to counteract it? As it is, there are some groups coming together to raise awareness of several political attempts to impose unnecessary rules and mandates, which does help, but what about the others who remain in their state of un-acknowledgment, or even worse, complicity? Then when considering those who are fully aware of what’s going on, yet maintain a defeatist position, or an apathetic one, the struggle to see the positive outcome can get overwhelming.

If the world is indeed composed of energy, frequency, vibration, thoughts, then by constantly focusing on the negative aspects and collectively indulging these thoughts, it creates an endless cycle of fear, division, emotional distress, etc. that keeps us in this lower state of energetic frequency/mentality.

If our world does indeed stem from our belief system, creating the trap that essentially enslaves us, then wouldn’t it be prudent to set our beliefs and thought patterns away from all of this evil and negativity, and instead direct it towards hope, faith, love and forgiveness?

Some may scoff at this idea, but there could be understandings that bring this theory to interesting reflection, if only one would expand their thinking and entertain these thoughts without the need for completely believing them.

Take, for example, the “paranormal” aspects of tulpas, poltergeists, placebos/nocebos, and similar concepts. History and studies dictates that these are within the realm of possibility, if not having already been established.

What Is a Poltergeist?

Then, in a somewhat similar vein as poltergeists, there are cases where a person’s energetic force, if that’s what it is, causes disturbances to electrical objects.

Are You A Slider? The Phenomena of High Energy People Causing Electronics to Go Haywire

I myself have had experiences with appliances going haywire during certain times in my life. I can’t attest that it’s due to my conscious/subconscious/unconscious state, or that it was even directly through me. But it is fascinating and questionable when certain objects respond to a specific person’s close proximity, compared to those of other people.

There is also the matter of vibrational frequencies. Some people experience vibrations during meditation, or even when having out of body experiences. Again, I have first hand accounts of this phenomena, not only from out of body experiences, but also from a vibrational test, of sorts. I fully believe that the more spiritually developed we are, the higher and stronger our vibrational frequencies get. Staying in a state of despair, depression, anger, fear, etc. will keep us in a lower state of frequencies.

Feeling Vibrations During Meditation: Here Is Why!

Now, with all that being said, why do I feel as if our beliefs/thoughts play a significant role in the life that we’re in?

Well, I’m going to go back to one of the most widely known manuscripts/books in history. To the Bible.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [overcome] comprehend it.
John 1:1-5

What are words, spoken aloud? It’s sound. What is sound? It’s a vibrational frequency.

“A sound is a form of energy, just like electricity, heat or light. Sound is one of the important senses of the human body. Some sounds are pleasant, and some are annoying. We are subjected to various types of sound all time. Sound waves are the result of the vibration of objects.”What is Sound? – Characteristics of Sound Waves, Propagation Of Sound

“The Word of God” could then be re-written to state “The Vibration of God”. There are also scientific studies into “light” and its definition being of an energetic wavelength – similar to that of sound.

Now, getting back to the Bible, I want to focus on the belief/faith aspect of its teachings.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:8-9

The above passage combines both vibrational sound frequencies (speak aloud your faith) with the belief (conscious thoughts) of one’s heart in Jesus Christ.

One has to wonder, why is “belief/faith” such an integral part of the biblical/Godly narrative? If our own belief constructs can make us sick through “nocebos”, or well with “placebos”, just by believing in the concept of side effects or cures, then what would a belief in a divine presence accomplish?

Likewise, if one wants to entertain the opposite side of the fence, what would a deeply held belief in demons, ghosts, negative entities, accomplish? There are many who practice witchcraft, sorcery, satanic rituals, paganism, etc. who have alleged to experience supernatural events. The same can be said of some followers of Jesus and of different religions, but seeing the current situation we have today, one has to wonder if there is a deliberate concerted effort to endorse other religions and practices while simultaneously denouncing Christianity/Jesus Christ for a specific reason.

If there are fewer and fewer people who believe in Jesus Christ, while I, personally, think that each person will have their own independent time of atonement, the whole world will either experience chaos (similar to the situation we find ourselves in right now), or depending on if more and more people choose to believe in Jesus, the world will slowly wake up out of this “worldly/materialistic” system and focus instead on the light/vibration of Truth and Love.

I have researched this for a very long time. While I may not have necessarily put my knowledge into practice until recent years, this information has been one that all roads lead to. And I want to make something completely clear. While there are many who do not believe in Jesus and instead are agnostic, or polytheistic, completely atheist, etc. – here is what I understand – [this is my opinion only based on the research and experiences that I’ve had]:

Jesus IS Love. He is the personification of Love.

I realize there are debates about this concept and that there are instances where Jesus expresses his outrage (fig tree/money changers) and while I’m not going to pretend to understand completely the motivations behind it, I will say that Love is not without its reprimands. I love my son whole-heartedly, but that doesn’t mean I won’t scold him or punish him if he does something out of line. I can’t explain Jesus’ outrage at a fig tree, but it’s not my place to judge.

So what does this all have to do with our beliefs/thoughts/energy/etc.? Well, Love in itself is an energy – emotional/vibrational energy. And if Jesus is Love, then it is akin to saying if we believe in Jesus, we believe in Love. We can also turn it around and say that if we believe in Love (pure, divinely-inspired Love – not the twisted “love” that some people try and justify their actions with), then we believe in Jesus Christ – even if we don’t realize it.

One last passage from the Bible that I want to make mention of (in which there are many centering around this topic) is the pure belief in what Jesus Christ can do.

In Mark 5, Jesus can be seen casting out a Legion of demons from a possessed man. There are a few key takeaways that I want to address.

1.) Even the demons that were being cast out believed in Jesus Christ and His power.

2.) A woman later comes up to Jesus, and just from her belief in Him alone, gets cured from a long-suffering ailment:

25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years.
26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse.
27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak,
28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.”
29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. 30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” 31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ” 32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.
33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth.
34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
Mark 5:25-34

3. The verse: “At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him.” is very telling. This ‘power’ isn’t spoken of in a metaphorical way. It is quite literal. And it indicates that it’s this power that healed the lady. But it’s only because she believed. The question then becomes, what would have happened if she didn’t believe? Would nothing have happened to her? Would the power have remained in Jesus Christ and not been able to go into the unbeliever? Would it have been her own mental blockade preventing Jesus Christ from curing her?

One could also turn this around and ask if it would have mattered if it’s Jesus’ belief that He can cure anyone; surely He could even if they don’t believe. So why does it seem to be a requirement that they believe, first?

In a somewhat similar topic, there are many who have had a near death experience who come back allegedly from the ‘other side’ with the full belief that they are cured from their sickness/accident – even if the doctor doesn’t believe them – and true to their belief and/or after their experience, they are somehow miraculously cured:

Near-Death Experience Reveals Secret to Rapid Healing
Miraculous NDE Healings

So to end on that, what is my purpose for creating this article? We should be aware, yes, of the unsavory events going on in the world – and take action to help our fellow human beings make the right decisions regarding them – but we also should not let the negativity of these events become our focal point and drag us into a state of despair.

Many times I have thought about simply giving up and letting humanity do what it will in regards to the state of the world. Those who are awake, are awake, although they have the choice to go back to sleep – those who are not awake, have the option to wake or forever remain asleep. Perhaps attempts at waking those who are still asleep are going against the frame of free will. Perhaps there is a time and place for everyone and eventually everyone WILL wake up, whether in this life time or the next.

But that divine spark that is within all of us is what I cling to, and what I would like to do is at least plant the seed that there is something much more to life than we can ever imagine; and if our thoughts are indeed creating the world around us, then it would benefit us to focus more on the positive, loving aspects of humankind, the kindness and compassion we have, rather than the darker counterpart. And just as importantly, remember who we are, what we are, and what we’re capable of.

Thank you for reading, I love you all. God bless.

Fact checking is extremely important. I want to reiterate not to take everything at face value; no matter what you read, where you read it from, or who you hear it from. And to be clear, do not rely on “fact checking” websites to give you accurate information either. These are just as likely, (if not even more likely…), to feed false information and false debunking accounts to manipulate the reader. Please take everything into consideration before adhering to a certain narrative – and always keep your mind open to other possibilities.

Hawaiian Whistleblower Claims of Massive Corruption Inside COVID/Nursing Units | “I’ve seen more people pass away from the vaccine than I have on COVID units.”

Faulty PCR tests, mislabeling COVID, and withholding treatment.

With so much uncertainty and censorship going on currently, especially with the COVID/vaccine narrative, it’s incredibly important to allow people’s experiences to be heard. What some may be dealing with in one arena, may not fully encompass what everyone else is going through. Yet the obvious and intrusive manipulation of suppressing people’s testimonies and first-hand accounts has reached an alarming height.

Those who engage themselves in social media and the tech platforms, such as youtube, twitter, facebook, instagram, etc. may find that certain information they’re trying to share is deleted, or shadow-banned, and/or their whole account targeted for “misinformation”.

It’s during these times that it’s more crucial than ever to spread awareness and let these people’s voices be heard.

Mr. Abrien Aguirre shares his experiences and what he sees as what can only be described as malfeasance and misconduct going on at the nursing facility that he works at. I would be willing to bet that he’s not the only one who sees all this corruption. But it takes honesty and compassion to break the silence and admit the truth, even at the risk of one’s career to go against the status quo.

The below video is a transcript of the incredibly important information that Abrien Aguirre shares with an HFSN reporter. Thank you to both HFSN and Mr. Aguirre for bringing this to attention.

All text below is from Abrien Aguirre unless otherwise stated. Some embellishment has been added for emphasis.

Source: bitchute | Hawaii Free Speech News | Abrien Aguirre Hawaii Covid Whistleblower

“My name is Abrien Aguirre, and I’m a board certified, occupational therapy practitioner. And I’m here because I have experience on COVID units. I’ve worked on 3 COVID units, 2 isolation COVID unit, and 1 step down unit. And um, so I’ve witnessed a lot of what I guess the media’s been talking about. And I see how they misrepresented the truth on COVID. The truth on the testing.

For instance, at my facility, I work at the biggest skilled nursing facility here in Oahu, and I work with the geriatric population. The people that were moved to the COVID unit, didn’t have COVID. They tested positive with the PCR test, but most of them were asymptomatic and only suffering from their preexisting conditions. None of them had exacerbated symptoms. Most of them weren’t sick, other than what they were already dealing with. End stage renal failure, diabetes, COPD, congestive heart failure, things of that nature.

I also saw how some of the hospice patients that were moved to the COVID unit, that died of terminal illness were actually put on the COVID death list. Which is complete fraud. And facilities were facilitating this, and doing this the whole time.

More people survived and had no issues and were asymptomatic that were well into their 80’s and 90’s, then that passed away. My entire experience on these COVID units, I think there were… 12 deaths? And none of those deaths could fully be attributed to COVID. It was all preexisting conditions or terminal illness.

Since the rollout of the vaccine, at my facility, Moderna was the vaccine that they administered, I’ve seen 32 elderly people pass away immediately after taking the Moderna vaccine.

None of that is being talked about on the news. None of that is being spoken about, you know, on the media. It doesn’t fit their narrative. I’ve seen more people pass away from the vaccine than I have on COVID units; which is really weird. Seeing that, supposedly we have really high COVID case numbers.

A lot of the patients that I treat are suffering from stroke, and heart attack, hip replacement, knee replacement, things of that nature. So when these people get admitted to the hospital, they have to take a PCR test first. So someone experiencing a heart attack will be picked up by the ambulance, taken to the hospital, the hospital will administer the PCR test; if the PCR test comes back positive, they admit this patient as a COVID patient. They don’t admit them as a heart attack patient. They don’t admit them for myocardial infarction. That’s kind of weird.

I’ve had stroke patients that I’ve treated that were admitted to – or taken to the hospital for stroke but when they get there, PCR test says ‘positive’ so they’re labeled as a COVID admission. Even though when they were there they were never treated for COVID, they were asymptomatic, and they were only treated for their stroke.

So there’s just this huge misrepresentation. Just a complete fraud with this system, with the healthcare system. I worked as a director of rehab for 5 months at another skilled nursing facility here in Kalihi, on Oahu, and at that facility, during my time as being the director of rehab, I’ve seen where the billing department would have my therapist change the ICD-10 medical diagnosis billing code from a pulmonary disorder or COPD, to COVID. Because of higher reimbursement.

Now these people were asymptomatic, some of them may have had a positive PCR, and some of them didn’t have a positive PCR test. But we were still forced to change those ICD-10 diagnosis codes to a COVID code because we get higher reimbursement for those patients.

So it’s just fraud on every level. Just higher reimbursement at medical facilities for someone that’s labeled COVID, whether you treat them for COVID or not. You’re gonna get higher reimbursement. I know this for a fact.

Reporter @4:16: “There’s an ambulance coming, right now.”

Abrien Aguirre: “Oh yeah, so that person, whatever they’re experiencing as soon as they get there, they’re not going to be allowed to be triaged, or admitted, until they have PCR. And if that PCR comes back positive, that person, if they’re having a heart attack, a cerebral vascular accident, anything, it’s going to immediately be labeled COVID instead of what they’re truly experiencing. Absolutely. Yep.

I, I’ve treated patients with heart attack that told me, “Yeah! I had a heart attack. My neighbor found me. They called the ambulance, the ambulance picked me up, resuscitated me, brought me back to life. I went to the hospital; the hospital wouldn’t admit me until I had a PCR test, the PCR test came back positive. I was no longer considered ‘heart attack’ or ‘myocardial infarction’. I was considered “COVID” from that point on.”

Even though they were never treated for COVID, never administered any therapeutics for COVID; treated for their heart attack, sent to our facilities so we can rehab them for those, you know, the weakness and stuff caused by their heart attack. But on our, when they come in, on our medical history, we see them as a COVID admission.

So it’s, it’s just weird fraud on every level, man. And that’s how we’re getting these spike numbers in COVID. Is because, heart attack: “COVID”. Cerebral vascular accident/stroke? You know, bleed in the brain: “COVID”. Like, everything’s coming back COVID. Broken hip/positive PCR: “COVID”.

@5:51: So the funny thing is, I’ve reached out to these politicians. I’ve reached out to Ige, I’ve reached out to Governor Josh Green, I’ve reached out to Rick Blangiardi. I’ve e-mailed, I’ve messaged these people letting them know what’s going on, and it’s silence. None of them get back to me. None of them correspond with me whatsoever. I hear no feedback from them.

I’ve talked to Rick Blangiardi, and Governor Ige – or, I messaged them, and I messaged Josh Green about the hospice patients that were terminally ill that were labeled as COVID deaths; no one’s ever gotten back to me about it. No one’s ever investigated this.

When I worked on the COVID unit, you know who ran the COVID unit? There was no infectious disease nurse. There was no infectious disease doctor. There was no representative from the DOH, Department of Health, that met with us to tell us what the protocol was. It was two certified nurse assistants, two therapists, a physical therapist/occupational therapist, and a registered nurse. That’s who ran the COVID department at Oahu’s biggest skilled nursing facility with the geriatric patients.

I never corresponded or met with Governor, Lieutenant Governor Josh Green. He never assessed the situation. That’s very weird. Why wouldn’t you assess this situation? With this deadly virus? We had no representative from the DOH come down and speak with us. There was no protocol, other than “Move these patients to the COVID unit, isolate them for 14 days. Some of them will make it, some of them won’t.”

Treatment was withheld. They weren’t given treatment. Because they had a positive PCR test, if a person had pneumonia or a flu, there’s this thing called ‘off-labeling’. They’re no longer allowed to be treated for flu or pneumonia. So they weren’t given any antivirals and they weren’t given any antibiotics. Which would normally fight those things. They were moved to a unit, they were told there was no treatment for them; whoever made it, made it – whoever didn’t, you know, didn’t.”

@7:53: “- they are testing us. This one’s from August 25, 2020. Right here, it even states on the printout, it says, “A positive result does not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses. The rt-PCR test can’t differentiate between any viruses. It’s in the fine print! In the printout of the rt-PCR test. The inventor of the PCR test admitted that it won’t differentiate between any viruses. Recently, the CDC has even admitted that the rt-PCR test doesn’t differentiate between viruses.

So you have three sources stating that it doesn’t differentiate between viruses. Yet, yet that’s the test we’re using for this case count. That’s the, that’s the test that we’re using; it’s a faulty test. And that’s the one that Governor Green, and all these medical facilities, and it’s my facilities too that I work at, are using to claim these, these COVID statistics. That’s just false. It’s false. It’s a faulty test, it doesn’t differentiate between anything, yet that’s the gold standard right now. And it’s sad. Because there’s so many false positives. There’s so many people that are asymptomatic because it doesn’t differentiate between anything.

@9:09: This is just an infringement on our medical freedom. This is an infringement on our kupuna’s [grandparent/elder/senior citizen] health. I mean, no one’s looking after the health of our kupuna. You know? I’ve seen more death come from the vaccine. 32 kupuna, immediately after taking the Moderna shot, either the 1st or 2nd shot, pass away from this. So who’s looking out for their care?

The people that try to speak up and look out for their care? It falls on deaf ears. No one – no one corresponds back with us. No one wants to hear it cause it doesn’t fit the current narrative. It’s horrible. And I think it’s just going to continue to get worse.

You know, my advice to people, I work in a skilled nursing facility and my advice to people is, if your kupuna are sick, if your elderly are sick, your grandmother, your great-grandmother, your mom, don’t send them to a skilled nursing facility. They’re not going to receive adequate care. Treatment is going to be withheld from them. They’re going to be forced to wear a mask all day. And social distance. They’re going to become depressed and want to commit suicide, because that’s what I’m seeing in our facilities. That’s what’s been going on.”

Reporter: “Thank you so much.”

Abrien Aguirre: “You’re welcome, bro. You’re welcome.”

For more information on treatment, there are many doctors who vouch for the Ivermectin/nutraceutical bundle that may be beneficial in treating these respiratory issues. I am not a doctor, but would encourage more research on this as a possibility to help. One thing that I will say, while the FDA has approved Remdesivir as a treatment for COVID, I would HIGHLY encourage one to do research on this drug (and organization) as well before choosing this as a course…

As it stands currently, the FDA has been accused several times of engaging in corrupt practices, accepting bribes from drug companies, and approving drugs that do more harm than good.

CORRUPTION IN THE FDA
An FDA Whistleblower’s Documents: Commerce, Corruption, and Death

Another notice, seeing as how accurate information is highly suppressed, while only one side of the narrative is highly endorsed, I would suggest using this as a guideline in determining what may be “actual misinformation”, as opposed to “information they don’t want you to see”. Yet with any level of research, discernment and critical thinking is needed, so please keep this in mind.

With that being said, I don’t want to derail the topic too much, I appreciate Abrien Aguirre and the HFSN (Hawaii Free Speech News) for sharing his experience, but also wanted to point out the unnecessary and unhelpful judgements that some people make to try and delegitimize some people’s accounts because of their credentials, or some other strawman excuse to refute credibility.

For instance, because Abrien Aguirre doesn’t work in “infectious diseases” or isn’t a PhD medical doctor, some people will use that as an excuse to automatically dismiss this man’s claims.

However, one of the top leading voices in this whole “pandemic” drive is that of Bill Gates. And what are his credentials? …Well… he’s a college dropout, accused of stealing software tech, and, according to wikipedia: William Henry Gates III is an American business magnate, software developer, investor, author, and philanthropist. He is a co-founder of Microsoft Corporation, along with his late childhood friend Paul Allen.”

So why would these credentials make Bill Gates one of the biggest spokespersons for a mandatory vaccine?

Oh, I forgot to mention his dad, William Gates Sr. – who was head of Planned Parenthood – which is a company born from a history of eugenics and whose founder, Margaret Sanger, specifically aimed for taking out the black population and those deemed “unfit”.

But I’m sure that’s all just a misunderstanding and even though Mr. Bill Gates himself has talked about reducing the population, obviously he doesn’t really mean it that way, right? I mean, that’s just ridiculous. …

And while Abrien Aguirre has been taking care of hospital patients and seeing all of the corruption going on within, where has Bill Gates been? Has he been taking care of patients one on one? Has he been directly in the hospitals, seeing patients being shuffled back and forth; who are being sent in for heart attacks/stroke/leg surgery/kidney stones/etc., etc., etc. yet being labeled as a COVID specific patient if the PCR tests (which are fraudulent to begin with) come back positive? Has he seen the malfeasance and manipulation of data just to get higher reimbursement from the government?

(Oh wait. Who am I kidding? He’s well aware of all the corruption going on, because he’s a key part of it.)

Or has he been in another simulation event planning out the next big cyber/biologic attack? Or meeting with all of his billionaire friends to laugh about the gullible and foolish human beings that believe he’s doing all of this out of the kindness of his heart and that he truly, honestly cares about us all – or perhaps he’s discussing more “philanthropic” ventures that just so happen to make him and his cohorts even richer?

Maybe he’s been hiding in his bunker, hoping that more and more people will take this deadly vaccine so that he can roam free after the chaos dies down. Perhaps he’s working on finalizing his divorce and trying to shut down “rumors” about his connection with Jeffrey Epstein… Going on more news channels to declare that these vaccines are the holy grail and that everyone and their dog needs to get it…

So once again I have to bring up, why would Bill Gates’ words be more credible in relation to this vaccine push, than someone who has firsthand account and eye-witness testimony? Why are the people who are experiencing the horrors of vaccine side effects/deaths in person being silenced and ignored in the media, while a “tech mogul” is plastered all over the news?

My best common sense guess: $$$

I apologize. I derailed quite a bit.

Thank you again to Abrien Aguirre, HFSN, and everyone else who has been speaking out about the corruption going on with this narrative. Yours is the voice that needs to be heard, and I appreciate your courage and integrity to do so. God bless.

Media Addiction – Does Media Affect Our Thoughts? pt. 3

Think you think for yourself?
Well, think again.

When I was younger, I used to think that all the people that claimed that violence on t.v., movies, music, etc. made on impression on us, were ridiculous.

I ardently believed that people were conscious enough to come to their own decisions and thought patterns, and ridiculed those that speculated otherwise.

Perhaps that was me jumping on the bandwagon of mocking the alleged “conspiracy theorists”. Calling them crazy and uninformed.

Well, who's laughing now?

(Well, I suppose it’s no laughing matter, but at least I’ve finally come to the realization that I was wrong.)

Before I delve in, what do you think? Are you here on this page because you believe the same thing? Or are you here because you think it’s a ridiculous concept like I once did?

Disclaimer: This website promotes love, kindness and compassion. However, in order to strive towards that, we must also expose the negativity surrounding us on a day to day basis. This post delves into some dark material that we should be aware of in order to guide us towards a better future.

Expanding Awareness Relations

If you’ve read my previous posts: How do we Find the Truth? and When News Media Lies, you already know about the levels of deception and manipulation that these “sources” have propagated to the population. (With the help of the CIA, I might add.)

So is it that much of a stretch to contemplate on this idea?

If that’s not enough of a reason, I will be addressing other points that might provide a little more insight into this kind of “mind control” programming.

Welcome to the 3rd part of this series “Does Media Affect Our Thoughts” – “Media Addiction”.

Link to part 1 – Violence in Entertainment
Link to part 2 – Propaganda in the Media

Slave to Social Media?

If you’ve had any foray into the social media blowout, I think most of us can admit, at some point in our life, that we have been reeled in by the “glamour” and whirlwind of a social media online presence.

I had a brief bout of this on a few media platforms. I won’t say the names of them (a couple of them were popular forums – some, not some well-known), but during that brief time even I could feel the pull of the social media attraction and allure.

And, perhaps surprisingly, I don’t have a facebook account. I refuse to get one, as a matter of fact. But I think with as many people who do have one know, the appeal of getting views and comments and likes can be quite euphoric. Just having the positive feedback can boost one’s self-esteem.

However… on the flip side, not getting any comments or views, or getting a lot of dislikes (or no likes/dislikes in general), negative feedback… can have a detrimental effect. This particular topic will be covered more later in this post when I address depression and anxiety.

But to continue with the slave-type addiction to media, what are your thoughts? Do you, personally, feel as if you’re addicted? Do you see your friends, families, classmates, etc. fallen victim to this scenario?

A common theme I see is when everyone (and I mean, absolutely everyone) in a particular area is on their phone. Perhaps you’ve seen the same situation. Unless you were eyes-deep into your phone as well.

With everyone distracted by their phones, if anything important happened around you, would you know?
Most of us own a phone, or a tablet, laptop... all of the above, even. But can we make the conscious decision to put these devices away to appreciate the world around us, and make actual personal connections?

Personal Experience

I know one that has happened to me, personally, was 3 years ago, while sitting in the DMV, with about 15 other people. I AM NOT LYING when I say that EVERY SINGLE PERSON was on their phone. It honestly felt like I was sitting in a movie and slowly coming to the realization about what a hold the media has on us. It was eerie. And it reminds me of this very profound saying:

“We have never been more connected; yet never so alone.”

Now this alone doesn’t mean we’re addicted, necessarily. Right?

You’re right. But some of these other examples are a somber look into this very real dilemma:

This site: psychologytoday.com asks some very important questions to evaluate one’s use of social media:

    • Do you spend a lot of time thinking about social media or planning to use social media?
    • Do you feel urges to use social media more and more?
    • Do you use social media to forget about personal problems?
    • Do you often try to reduce your use of social media without success?
    • Do you become restless or troubled if you are unable to use social media?
    • Do you use social media so much that it has had a negative impact on your job or studies?

If you feel as if you are having problems with being addicted to media, social or otherwise, then don’t fret. Thankfully, there are many steps you can take to reduce the pull that technology has on us. From the same site, they list several ways you can come to terms with this addiction: “Top Tips for a Digital Detox: 12 ways to help you cut down on your technology use

Here are a couple of very nice reads into a self-reflected awareness of their social media addiction, and their efforts to curtail it:

Social Media Addiction: A Personal Story – Erin C.
How Social Media Is Affecting Our Focus – Jamie Eiland

Interestingly, The Social Dilemma (Netflix film which came out just a month ago) covers this topic, which features several people that have worked (or still work) at big tech industries, such as Facebook, Google, Youtube, Pinterest, Tumbler, as well as others. Even they, the creators and designers of some of these addictive programs, are against their own creations; urging the viewer to reduce their screen time and realize that there are many ways that we are being manipulated. Many even confess that they refuse to let their children on to social media; at least until they reach an acceptable age.

Be Aware

I have to add a precaution to this film; there are many aspects to it that I agree with, however, there are also a few to me, that I view as a red flag. Namely that of when they mention “conspiracy theories” – again, casting it in an unflattering light – a very common tactic of manipulation, and a couple of situations pertaining to this. Please be very discerning about these kinds of topics. The film itself mentions fake news and how easy it is to fall for something that’s not necessarily true, thanks to all the deception and lies that are deliberately enforced to push a certain agenda/propaganda, yet seem to turn around and do the same thing. Attempting to “debunk” certain topics. Again, I ask that you be aware of any ways that you may be coerced or manipulated into believing a certain narrative.

Other than that unfortunate addition to the film, it did seem to touch on a lot of subjects that are a very real problem in our social media age. And it does raise an important subject to be discerning, because certainly, not every “conspiracy theory” is true, but there are alarmingly many that have been proven to be true.

25 Conspiracy Theories That Turned Out to be True – (Another sad fascinating fact, 23 out of 25 of these “theories” involve the government (most from the US)).

Where Does the Time Go? (and the moral ethics?)

Perhaps some people still don’t think an addiction to media is that bad. Or maybe people are just making it a big deal.

Well….. take a gander at the link below (or not… it is a harsh and cruel reality check into some of the atrocities going on around us) and tell me if people are just blowing this out of proportion. These are tragic and horrific accounts of people choosing video games/media over real life people (including themselves):

15 Bizarre Deaths Caused by Video Gamestheclever.com. Some devastating accounts due to media addiction from this site (visit the link for a full list):

  • “In 2010, a South Korean couple ended up spending so much time raising their digital baby, in turn neglecting their real life baby, who ended up dying of prolonged malnutrition.”
  • “In 2007, a Chinese man engaged in an unknown online video game for three consecutive days at an internet café.” … “fixated on the computer for 72 hours straight, the man finally dropped dead out of exhaustion.”
  • “17 year old, Daniel Petric, shot his parents because they wouldn’t let him play Halo 3. He allegedly shot both of them in the head, instantly killing his mother. His father survived. – kotaku.com
  • “October 2010, Alexandra Tobias was playing Farmville … and she got so addicted that she apparently forgot that she had a three-year-old son. Her attention was taken back to reality when her son cried out of hunger, and instead of feeding her child, she responded by shaking him to death…”
  • “In the fall of 2007, according to his mother, Shawn Woolley killed himself as result of a lack of socialization and detachment from reality caused by endless hours of playing EverQuest.”

This site mentions 3 video gamers that regret their decision to allow video games to pull them into their addictive grip:

There are many more events attributed to video games, especially, but also media in general. And as you may have noticed, the articles I’m making on this topic don’t just mention “social” media, but “media” as a whole. That can range from anything as social, internet use, television, movies, video games, etc.

How many times have you caught yourself on a binge-watching marathon? Or scrolling through the internet/on facebook/youtube? How many times do you check your phone for notifications, text messages, emails, forum posts?

While all of these aren’t necessarily bad things, per se, the habitual time sink it proposes definitely is. Which is why it’s important to be aware of how much time we really are spending on these different platforms. I find myself occasionally going on binge-watches, spending way too much time on youtube (although admittedly a lot of times I’m on there for research) and checking email for communication.

The important thing is moderation. Once we’re aware of how much time we’re losing to these different arenas, the better chance we have to come back from that and consciously choose to spend time more efficiently, and essentially.

Sadly, sometimes these addictions to different media platforms disable us from focusing on real life situations: work, school, relationships, raising our own kids… As we saw with some examples above, the decision that some people have taken to choose technology over other people, is a scary and serious look into the hold that media can have over us.

Porn and Gambling Online

We’ve already covered some topics detailing the horrible situations that have erupted due to media addictions. But we haven’t even covered media addictions in conjunction with other addictions, such as porn, gambling, and shopping. (Yes, shopping.)

In this day and age, with everything so readily available to us through the internet, the instant gratification mode that many people have is more prevalent than ever. And that’s not a good thing.

Instead of us appreciating what we already have, the constant push of “more and better” things that the internet poses to us keeps us in a state of always wanting more. Many are unhappy with what they already have and instead are continually searching for ways, in their mind, to improve their quality of life. Not realizing that material items are not going to make them happy, but being there for their loved ones (and friends and strangers), will.

What kind of satisfaction do we get when we watch porn, or gamble, or buy material things? A temporary one, if that. And more often than that, if one has moral decency, guilt and shame as well.

So not only do we have the issue of spending money (and/or time) on temporary gratifications, we also have to deal with the remorse that comes after that. Now with everything, moderation is key. I’m not here to condemn anyone who chooses to do these hobbies. Although some I do feel could be eroding our conscious (and conscience) and creating a negative cycle that’s hard to get out of. But if you do feel guilt and shame, then it may be a sign to start pursuing something else.

Some helpful links that dig a little deeper into this dilemma:

So why are these hobbies so damaging to our lifestyle? Well, they’ve been known to cause, in some people: divorce, financial problems, child neglect, and crimes (sometimes even all of the above). I guess one can come to the conclusion that just about anything could result in these sad situations, and while that may be true, the focus is on this topic to show the damages it can create.

Social Anxiety / Depression

The culmination of all this evidence into media addictions has boiled down to one interesting connection: higher rate of anxiety and depression.

In every single subject covered in this series, people have experienced an increase in depression, anxiety, relationship strains, and in some tragic cases, even suicide. This has been especially true in today’s children and young teens/adults – in which media/technology started becoming a prominent part of society.

Excerpts are shown detailing just some of the psychological difficulties that have arisen due to media addictions from a few of the topics covered above:

  • “They explained BSD (buying-shopping disorder), and particularly the online form, can cause a loop of extreme cravings for buying things and satisfaction when spending money. This can then lead to a breakdown in self-control, ‘extreme distress’, other psychiatric problems, relationship difficulties and physical clutter and debt.” – dailymail.co.uk

  • “Research has shown that there is an undeniable link between social media use, negative mental health, and low self-esteem. While social media platforms have their benefits, using them too frequently can make people feel increasingly unhappy and isolated. These negative emotional reactions are not only produced due to the social pressure of sharing things with others, but also the comparison of material things and lifestyles that these sites promote.” – addictioncenter.com

  • “Research shows that 97% of Americans 12 to 17 years old play video games, and as many as 23% of gamers of all ages show signs of addictive behavior. According to the WHO, these signs include impaired control over gaming and “continuation or escalation of gaming despite the occurrence of negative consequences.” And these repercussions can be seen in a person’s personal relationships, career, schoolwork, or daily life. Gaming disorder also puts people at greater risk for other detrimental issues, including:

    • Depression
    • Anxiety
    • ADD/ADHD
    • Sleep disturbances
    • Irritability
    • Bad moods
    • Fatigue
    • Fearfulness
    • Suicidal thoughts

Recognize When to Seek Help

Unfortunately, because media plays such a huge part in today’s societal norms, (case in point – my 7 year old son had to get a gmail account for school… I, personally, was not too happy with that idea), the delicate issue of people’s personal habits is something that has been ignored for far too long.

Ultimately, this should be a collaborative effort between the tech industries and the adults in charge of themselves, and especially their children, to monitor these kinds of behaviors and work towards a common solution to educate ourselves of these addictive dangers, and become consciously aware of our choices and the decisions we make. Because we can’t rely on the tech industries (after all, it has been admitted that their job was to create these programs to be as addictive as possible), then it is up to us, individually, to make the right choice and break away from this harmful lifestyle.

If you feel as if you are suffering from anxiety, depression, frustration, anger, suicidal thoughts, or anything of the like, please seek help. There are numerous support groups and phone lines that can help assist you in addressing these issues.

Disclaimer: Expanding Awareness Relations shows these links as a resource for your perusal. I take no responsibility or credit on the ability of these sites to help or hamper one’s addictive behavior.

The FOMO (fear of missing out), “dopamine hits”, social interactions (whether it’s positive or negative), etc. can all contribute to an addictive behavior of the media. Once we can recognize it and address these factors in our lives, the better self-aware we can be and more thoughtful in our actions – leading to a healing and recovery of our mind, body, and soul; and, equally as important, our relationships.

Social media = social distancing? (no, not the coronavirus “social distancing”)

If we keep allowing the media to rule our lives, the possible end result is actually quite terrifying; a literal unplugging us from life and reality, and plugging us into a virtual reality that separates us from each other more than ever before.

With the ever-looming advent of powerful AI, is our future heading towards some kind of technological dystopia? We may laugh, now, at the “silly” prospect of having a real life “Terminator” or “Matrix” on our hands, but with the terrifying onslaught into the Internet of Things, microchipping, virtual reality agenda, it is honestly a serious proposal we must consider.

Are we okay relying even more heavily into all these tecnological advances? Or will we finally realize that a return to nature (in it’s pure, uncorrupted form), is the best way for society to move forward?

In part 4, I discuss the media experiments that have taken place; starring “us”, the unwitting user. In part 5, I cover the issue of data mining our information (and our minds).

Stay tuned. (no pun intended)
