Are We Perpetuating Violence and Negativity?

Are we unwittingly encouraging it?

In my last post, Creating Our Own Reality, I wrote about how we need to STOP CONSENTING to letting other, corrupted factions dictate the reality around us. I refuse to be a part of this system, and I refuse to let them use other innocent souls for their agenda as well.

However, the whole dichotomy behind ‘free will’ creates a paradox that could be infringing upon other people’s free will (within their soul level) to experience said agendas. Perhaps it is all part of the “Big Plan”.

I, on the other hand, if this is the case, opt out of this “Big Plan”, and instead want to live in a world where suffering and wickedness don’t exist, and those who do choose this path do so of their own free will. The others who don’t wish to live in this corruption or hellish realm may opt to leave as well.

But how do we do this?

As well as saying NO to all of these immoral establishments and their depraved agendas, there are many other ways to working towards a different reality. (Which I will cover more in depth in a future post.)

But in this one, I am looking at one, very essential circumstance that points to us as a collective whole as one of the reasons why negativity and hate seem so prevalent in our every day lives and perhaps the reason that these “powers that shouldn’t be” keep pushing certain agendas our way. The other methods are more of a personal development that I believe we should all work towards. But for this one, we can work through it simply by not participating in their (our) system of ‘mind control’ and perception.

Unrelenting mass media manipulation (but by whom?)

As many studies have indicated, most people are inherently attracted to negative news instead of the positive. Which obviously keeps them in a state of low-vibration/energy than if they were actively seeking (and creating) positive experiences.

How Negative News Distorts Our Thinking

Think about it. If ALL you see on tv, social media, in the news, etc., etc., etc. is ‘negative’, our way of thinking will automatically be hard-wired to believing that the whole world is an evil, hateful place to live in.

And even if you, personally, don’t watch the news, there are many other ways in which these bad news gets around:

– social media
– daily conversations
– taught in schools
– church sermons
– radio
– etc.

So the efforts to escape this form of negativity, while it could be minimized, may not be diminished completely.

But why does most of the news always seem so focused in negative and depressing headlines to begin with?

“If it bleeds, it leads.”

The truth of the matter is, negative news gains more attention and views than heart-warming, touching stories. Sad, but true. There have even been studies, social experiments, and research done on this very topic.

I’ve covered facebook in previous posts manipulating their users by showing them either positive or negative content, and you could read about more of their social experiments here, Facebook’s Fascinating (and Disturbing) History of Secret Experiments, one of which include Massive-Scale Emotional Contagion.

And a few others that shed further light can be found at the following sites:

Why do people click on bad news? Negativity bias
Bad News Bias
What Is the Negativity Bias?

Now, although the studies and research/hypothesis above highlight why our attention is so diverted towards the bad side of the news, the social experiment that a Russian news outlet decided to run wanted to see just how much of a difference that only showing “good” news would play out upon the public.

According to The City Reporter (cityreporter.ru), when they attempted to show only positive news reports for a day (or at least, show negative news in a positive light: “No disruption on the roads despite snow”, for example) the results were rather disheartening.

The readership dropped by 2/3rds that day. A whopping 66%.Here’s what happened when a news site only reported good news for a day

Knowing that ‘bad news’ and sensational articles gets more viewerships, rather than positive, uplifting ones, it sadly doesn’t surprise me that City Reporter lost some views that day. But to the extent that it did, was incredibly shocking and very disappointing.

Indeed, I have noticed the same thing with this very own site that most of the uplifting, encouraging, positive posts I write get bypassed, while the negative, bitter expositions I’ve written get a lot more attention.

Naturally speaking, we have an instinctive drive to know the possible dangers around us as a survival mechanism. Which all in all, isn’t a bad thing. And while it’s important to remain informed and knowledgeable about what’s going on in the world, we need to realize that our FOCUS should not entirely depend upon these fear-inducing, emotionally draining, stress-creating content.

So who’s ultimately really to blame here for keeping the population in the dark (literally and figuratively) and perpetuating the belief that the world is full of negativity and violence? Is it the news media inundating us with all of these terrible, stressful situations? Are they compelled to create false flag events just to create even more fodder to attract the population’s attention?

Does the blame lie on us for our continued drawn attention to it?

After all, if the City Reporter’s efforts to show positivity in a day drew more viewership and readers, then perhaps news media around the world would jump on the same bandwagon and start showing more heart-warming, uplifting news stories, rather than doom and gloom and staged gun shootings, for example.

So what is the key takeaway from all of this?

We do this to ourselves, ladies and gentlemen. When we can finally come to the truth of this matter, and realize that we are maintaining our own bitter reality, and finally start working our way out of it, will real change begin and we can see a better, more hopeful future.

By the majority of the population continuing the focus on negativity, hate, division, “bad news”, stress, etc., etc., etc., it is creating an endless cycle in which people actually expect and, in a way, look forward, to seeing bad news in the media.

Can we steer away from this paradigm and actually actively seek and make our own news that guides us to creating more good news and restores faith and hope within all of us? Can we decide to choose which content we indulge in that will give us a better, healthier and more enlightening thought inclinations, rather than being stuck with negative news bombarding us at every turn?

We do have that choice. While it may seem that humanity is instinctively designed to wanting to know bad news in order to prepare for the worst, we must also be aware of the damaging effects it has on not only our mental state, but our physical and spiritual state as well.

We must also be aware that all of the negativity we’re consuming may not even be an accurate representation of our world, but instead an embellishment, an exaggeration, of what’s really going on. This is probably orchestrated in order to keep us in a designated mindset of hopelessness and despair, which further continues this harmful cycle.

Cutting back on this negative outside influence by pursuing light, happy, positive information can have extremely healing and beneficial effects.

Even though the study that City Reporter engaged in showed that their readership dropped by 66% that day, the Guardian also initiated their own form of a similar experiment, this time showing positive results.

The good news is … people like to read good news

Why were these two outcomes so different? Is it a matter of different countries’ perspective? Were people just getting tired of all the bad news and realizing that some good news was a nice, refreshing deviation from all the negativity and pessimism that they were used to seeing?

Regardless of the reason, coming to the realization that we are surrounded by deliberately manipulated news outlets pushing negativity onto us, and the realization that a lot of us are attracted to this sort of material to begin with, will hopefully open our eyes to that fact and that we have the very conscious decision to start pursuing more worthwhile and valuable connections and change our negative inclinations, to positive, uplifting ones.

While there’s no way to really change anyone else and their mentality or thought process, it all boils down to us as a single individual, doing the right thing for what’s best for everyone else. I can’t change you, or anyone else. But YOU can change you.

The world is literally in your hands. Are you going to keep dwelling in the negativity and horrors of it all? Or are you going to stand up and say ENOUGH! and start looking towards being more positive, loving and forgiving, and developing this effort worldwide? The choice is up to you.

Fact checking is extremely important. I want to reiterate not to take everything at face value; no matter what you read, where you read it from, or who you hear it from. And to be clear, do not rely on “fact checking” websites to give you accurate information either. These are just as likely, (if not even more likely…), to feed false information and false debunking accounts to manipulate the reader. Please take everything into consideration before adhering to a certain narrative – and always keep your mind open to other possibilities.

How do we Change the World?

Can we change it? If so, how?

There are many injustices in life. The world is hanging in the balance between a spiritual warfare that many don’t believe in. So how do we make a difference?

Where do we begin?

It starts, with our children. And, more specifically, more importantly, it starts with YOU. Whether you’re a parent, relative, teacher, legal guardian: YOU have the power to make a difference. Children are essential in shaping and paving the way for a brighter future. But in order to guide them in the right direction, we, as adults, need to step up and be the right model.

Think back to your childhood. What do you remember? How were you raised? How did society treat you?

We all have the world in our hands. The question is, what are we going to do about it?
We all have a hand in the world. Some choose to do good with it. Some choose to do the opposite. What will you choose?

We all have a hand in what goes on in our world; whether we’re conscious about it or not. Our actions affect others, even in the slightest way; be it positive or negative.

Maybe it shouldn’t. Maybe we should be strong enough to not let others dictate how we should respond and react. But let’s be honest. We’re social creatures and our day to day interactions mold us into who we are today.

Now imagine being a child again and how impressionable and trusting we are by nature into the very hands of those who raise us. What better timeframe to teach them the most important aspect of our purpose here than during the more pure, unbiased, pivotal moments of their life?

And what is our purpose, you may ask? Why, it’s so simple, so obvious, so unassuming, that we can easily overlook it if we’re not paying attention.

It's to LOVE one another.

30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:30-31
How do we change the world? We love one another. True, genuine, unconditional love.
How do we end war? Love. How do we end world hunger? Love. How do we end abuse, violence, hatred? Love.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
Corinthians 13:4-8

Love has many different perspectives, but the core, fundamental idea behind this very important force, is to grow in unconditional compassion and kindness towards each other.

We all could benefit from humbly learning to hold our family and friends (and enemies alike!) in mutual respect and reverence. Our purpose is selfless service to others and to spread unconditional love no matter who it is and no matter where we go.

This holds especially true with children. They are naturally born to receive their parents/guardians as their protector, supporter and hold them in the highest regards with as much devotion and innocence a being can give that has yet to be tainted by a sometimes harsh society. True this may be due to the human condition of reliance since a baby/child has no other option than to submit to their caregiver. And this goes hand in hand with their predisposition at such a young age, as we all once were (and as part of the limitations of any physical body), of survival.

Be a Compassionate Mentor/Teacher

And herein lies the opportunity for the best teachable moments in our life. During these times, when a baby is going through their natural survival instincts and into their childhood with interacting with others, it is crucial to teach them about:

The best things to teach children? Not regular school subjects...
When is the best time to teach love and compassion? Do we even think about it? We should be teaching these very important values as soon as they're born.
  •    love
  •    trust
  •    caring
  •    sharing
  •    patience
  •    kindness
  •    tolerance
  •    forgiveness
  •    compassion
  •    selflessness
  •    understanding
  • Isn’t it amazing that our children learn everything from their A, B, C’s to quantum physics when they’re in school? Yet, when do they really learn about love and forgiveness? Do parents effectively teach these extremely important attributes? Or do we take it for granted that children will learn it on their own? Maybe we should put more emphasis on these subjects than academic knowledge… (at least in their early years).

These will be very important stepping stones in helping them overcome the potential trials and tribulations they may encounter while growing up and having to come face to face with making their own decisions.

The best way for a child to learn how to be loving and compassionate, is by example. When they are taught how to be kind and empathetic, by observing and receiving these actions, it helps develop their own state of mind and lifestyle.

    Have Integrity

Doing the right thing may seem hard to some people, especially if they feel as if there’s an “easier” way of doing things. Or if they were raised in an environment that wasn’t quite conducive to making the right choices.

Sadly, some children around the world grow up in abusive households, and/or drug addicted parents, alcoholics, corrupted orphanages, foster care, homelessness, etc. In some cases, it is because a child is defenseless and powerless that they are abused and taken advantage of. It is absolutely heartbreaking, because instead of those meant to protect them, these people instead exert their power and authority over them just because they can.

This is the background some children have lived in and is all they’ve ever known. And so when they grow up and have children of their own, they unwittingly make the same choices. Not knowing that there’s a different way; and so the vicious cycle continues.

Perhaps you know from firsthand experience what I’m talking about. And it takes a lot of courage, strength, and inner light to make the conscious decision to get out of that cycle and into a mindful awareness to choose to raise your children in a different way; and to never subject them to a cruel, dark, abusive lifestyle.

Now, here’s the thing: if we could ALL reach this level of awareness and compassion towards one another, then slowly but surely our world will be transformed and we will start seeing less war, less hunger, less suffering, less hate; and more peace, more abundance, more happiness, and more love.

    Forgive and Pray

Forgiveness is another huge factor in this journey of changing the world. How do we expect to change the world if we’re still holding on to our grudges, bitterness, wrongdoings…? The key to be set free from that is to forgive ourselves, and to forgive others.

This is one of the most important (and difficult) aspects of this pursuit. To forgive and love our enemies in kind. It is quite easy to love our sweet grandparents, or our adorable children, or our doting spouse; even our loyal and wonderful pets.

But on the other hand… when we have a troublesome co-worker, a bully in school, a difficult ex, a hardened criminal… things get A LOT tougher.

So this is when we pray, and love, and have faith that the Lord hears us. And if not working a miracle of a change in heart for those we pray for, then to pray for a change of heart for ourselves that we can forgive them and not hold any grudges; for true love is unconditional.

27 But to you who are listening I say, "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
    Luke 6:27-28
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
    Ephesians 4:31-32

    Be a Humble Student

One last note, looking back to where I mentioned how little children hold their caregiver in high regard… In reality, WE should hold THEM in high regard. We should honor and care for them and treat them with the utmost respect and look to them to re-learn how to be humble and forgiving.

Most children will have retained their loving, forgiving demeanor until it is (sometimes) quashed by the harsh corruption of those “in charge”. Why would we want to be a part of this destruction? Their innocence and pure love should be cherished and valued. Why do some feel the need to take advantage of this and ruin it?

(Perhaps there is something to the spiritual warfare that has a role in this type of abomination that wants to destroy the loving part of humanity…)

If we take considerations on the innocence and inherent goodness of little children, perhaps we can re-learn how to be loving, forgiving, caring and humble.

    – Young girl tells her mom that she is taking too much candy while out trick-or-treating. After seeing a bowl of candy with a note asking trick-or-treaters to please take one or two, the mom instead takes huge handfuls, despite her young daughter trying to tell her to put it back.

Even though this is one of the less severe forms of what parents “inadvertently” (or sometimes on purpose) teach their children, it is still a lesson on how to have integrity and teach our children right from wrong; not the other way around.

Instead of us corrupting children, let’s learn from them.

16 Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.
    Luke 18:16-17
2 And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, 3 and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of Heaven. 4 Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.
    Matthew 18:2-4

So how do we change the world?

It starts with you. It starts with me. It starts with our children.

We forgive and love and pray. We teach our children to do the same.

And it must be said, we need to take care of the Earth, as well. The constant pollution to our land and water will be extremely detrimental not only to our health, but to our state of mind as well. Having the respect and reverence for nature will keep it beautiful and abundant.

When each of us, one by one, come to this realization and work on bettering ourselves and the world in general, then we will become the example for future generations to follow, and bliss and happiness will prevail.

Apocalyptic world. We can choose to not let this happen.
Beautiful mountains. Mother nature is equally as important as teaching our children the art of love and compassion. We should be taking care of the Earth as well.
"Be the change you want to see in the world."
