Subliminal Messages – Does Media Affect Our Thoughts? pt. 7

Think you think for yourself?
Well, think again.

When I was younger, I used to think that all the people that claimed that violence on t.v., movies, music, etc. made on impression on us, were ridiculous.

I ardently believed that people were conscious enough to come to their own decisions and thought patterns, and ridiculed those that speculated otherwise.

Perhaps that was me jumping on the bandwagon of mocking the alleged “conspiracy theorists”. Calling them crazy and uninformed.

Well, who's laughing now?

(Well, I suppose it’s no laughing matter, but at least I’ve finally come to the realization that I was wrong.)

Before I delve in, what do you think? Are you here on this page because you believe the same thing? Or are you here because you think it’s a ridiculous concept like I once did?

Expanding Awareness Relations

If you’ve read my previous posts: How do we Find the Truth? and When News Media Lies, you already know about the levels of deception and manipulation that these “sources” have propagated to the population. (With the help of the CIA, I might add.)

So is it that much of a stretch to contemplate on this idea?

If that’s not enough of a reason, I will be addressing other points that might provide a little more insight into this kind of “mind control” programming.

Here is the 7th part of this series “Does Media Affect Our Thoughts” – “Subliminal Messages”.

If you were inundated with subliminal messages everywhere you turn, would you even realize it?

First, let’s take a look at what ‘subliminal message” means:

A subliminal message is a technique used in marKEting and other media to influencE People without theiR bEing Aware of what the messenger is DoING.

This may involve the use of split second flashes of text, hidden images, or subtle cues that affect the audience at a level below conscious awareness.

dictionary.com (subliminal message)

There’s been plenty of studies and experiements that have tried to get to the bottom of this fascinating subject, and if it even works; and far be it for me to claim one way or another since I am not the one conducting these experiences. And of course, with those studies (that are known to the public, I should add), the results are usually less than stellar.

However, as one should be aware of by now, trusting that the public is getting all the answers to these experiments on our minds is detrimental and unwise. There’s a popular saying for magicians and those trying to deceive others: “Only let them see, what you want them to see.”

In the case of subliminal messages, the point is to try and subtly manipulate the intended audience through secret (usually hidden) tactics. The purpose of these is to try and trick your subconscious mind and encourage you to think one way or another.

Take the above definition from the dictionary.com website, for example. If you noticed, they sprinkled in capital letters seemingly at random throughout their explanation of what ‘subliminal message’ means. However, if you take out those capital letters, it would spell out this: “KEEP READING“.

Do these tactics work? Again, like I stated above, some studies seemed to indicate that yes, it works on a small scale. But it depends on how the subliminal message was introduced, and what the subliminal message is even about. There are also supraliminal messages that I will be covering in conjunction with subliminal messages. Supraliminal are messages that we can and often do notice, but we aren’t aware of the impacts of how it could manipulate our thoughts.

Song Lyrics

Love songs can have a hidden meaning on your subconscious as well. If it
is subtly singing about "I will love you if you love me back", there is
the possibility that the song is trying to trick you into thinking the
answer to love, the only way it's real, is if love is reciprocated.

Real love, I must say, does not demand anything from anyone. If you truly love someone, it would not matter if this person loved you back. True, unconditional love would love them anyway, regardless of their feelings for you.

By the way, did you notice the other hidden message I put in the text box above? If you take the first word of each line, the sentence “Love is the answer” is revealed.

This really didn’t start hitting me until I was a bit older, so perhaps it was through maturity or just an epiphany of what real love is, and it hit me with some older love songs that I was listening to. Take this one from Chicago: (which I’ve loved Chicago since I grew up with it due to my parents listening to it)

Just say you'll love me for the rest of your life
I gotta lot of love and I don't want to let go
Will you still love me for the rest of my life?
'Cause I can't go on
No, I can't go on
I can't go on
If I'm on my own
Chicago

Now again, I’ve loved Chicago since I was little, but when I listen to the lyrics now, I get a feeling that the message is manipulative, trying to guilt trip the “loved one” into staying in the relationship.

Another, quite harmful message we can see in Gwen Stefani’s “Say that You Love Me”:

So, I cry and I pray and I beg,
Love me, love me, say that you love me,
Fool me, fool me, go on and fool me,
Love me, love me, pretend that you love me,
Lead me, lead me, just say that you need me.

So, I cry and I beg for you to,
Love me, love me, say that you love me,
Lead me, lead me, just say that you need me,
I can't care about anything but you.
Gwen Stefani

There are so many more examples with songs displaying lyrics that, unless you listen to them and are consciously aware, the message (not a good one) might slip you by. And repeated amounts of listening to songs that have these meanings might just slip into your subconscious and lead you into a false idea of what love is, for example.

Gwen Stefani’s example above shows a person so desperate for love that they won’t care if they’re being lied to just to be told that they’re loved. This is wrong in every sense of the word. And the fact they “can’t care about anything but you” would lead one to feel hopeless and depressed if they don’t have that particular person in their life.

Not good messages to send out about what love is and having one own’s self-confidence, independence and strength and true love for oneself and others.

Love is the answer.

And what of backward masking? (Some messages are, obviously, not for those easily offended…) Could our subconscious really pick up on messages that are only revealed when played backwards? Or is this just a kind of “easter egg” that the artist put there for their own entertainment, and/or for their fans to find? (Or perhaps some other nefarious purpose that would escape most people?)

Auditory “messages”

I wanted to cover how even the different types of auditory stimulation (besides song lyrics) might influence your thoughts without you even realizing it.

Take this British study done in the 1990’s:

Back in the late 1990s, researchers took to a British supermarket and tinkered with the store’s background music. For a two-week period they played French music and German music on alternating days, and recorded wine sales by country. They found that when French music was played, French wines outsold German wines, and when German music was played, German wines sold better. What’s more, shoppers indicated via questionnaire no awareness they’d been influenced by music. An earlier supermarket experiment showed that playing slow tempo music is correlated with shoppers purchasing more (perhaps because it encourages people to slow down and spend more time in the store), and fast tempo music correlates with less spending.

This Is Your Brain on Subliminal Information

There are other interesting studies done on the type of music in relation to restaurants. Anywhere from playing no music at all, to pop songs, and classical music.

Manipulation through music

While music may well be the food of love, Mozart, Bach and Beethoven could also burn a nasty hole in your pocket, research has suggested.

Scientists have discovered that classical music makes restaurant diners feel more affluent and encourages them to spend more money.

The less sophisticated tones of Britney Spears as background music saw people typically spending around 10 per cent less on their meals.

Researchers at the University of Leicester found that classical music, often associated with affluence, was the most successful in encouraging people to part with their cash.

When no music was played, the amount of money spent by diners was dramatically less.

Dr Adrian North, senior lecturer in psychology at the university, said: ‘When you hear a piece of music it activates all types of knowledge. If you hear classical music, it has got all sorts of connotations of sophistication, affluence and wealth and it makes you feel a bit posh.

‘In a restaurant, this has the effect of making you spend a bit more money. Where people were really spending the money was on the luxury items, such as starters, desserts and coffees.’

Fancy language, classical music, subliminal messages and ‘cakeage’: The shocking ways restaurants are TRICKING you into spending more money

So even though these are more of a supraliminal stimuli, what if we combined supraliminal stimuli with subliminal music and subliminal messages?

Cosmic Music as a Subliminal Music Message

Now we have a combination of all of the above. Music and beats and different ranges of frequency, as well as subliminal messages to alter one’s way of thinking.

And while the article above is focusing on the positive aspects of this possibility, what if one were to use this method for the reverse effect?

Why? You may ask? There are a few different theories. One being “mind control”, plain and simple. Of course, when one doesn’t include all of the other material and agendas of tptsb (the powers that shouldn’t be), this may seem far-fetched. But once we open our eyes and awareness, (and put the fear and denial aside), these possibilities suddenly don’t seem so crazy. Which is why I always stress that having a personal awareness and conscious thinking is extremely important, and something that everyone needs to start practicing.

And indeed, when running a business, it is to the benefit of the company in order to get the consumer to buy as much as they can, so “mind control” would be a beneficial goal for these businesses.

Now getting back to these binaural beats and subliminal messages as a way of self-hypnosis, if you will, there can be no doubt that several different studies on both positive and negative effects were done in order to reach these conclusions. Not only with frequencies and beats, but with words themselves.

A popular study conducted by Robert Monroe (with government funding and projects) is the Hemi-sync audio-tapes born from the Gateway Program. There are in-depth articles revealing Monroe’s involvement and findings into this program, but here is an Analysis and Assessment of the Gateway Process.

Written and mental messages

And as for another reason why using subliminal/supraliminal messages would be a benefit to a company? Well, this study was conducted showing that subliminal messages with negative connotations, have a higher chance of gaining (and keeping) attention than that of positive ones.

Negative Subliminal Messages More Effective

What company could benefit from this revelation?

The news media and social media, of course. Which is what they regularly do in order to try and keep viewers.

How Negative News Distorts Our Thinking

Can one blame the news outlets and social media if it’s a proven tactic to work that to keep our attention, they must show negative news? What if we decided not to give them that boost and instead strayed from watching it? Some will argue that it’s a necessity to watch the news because it gives us information on what’s going on around us and it’s a way to keep us informed, but with the way the media has been skewed lately, it seems as if we are no longer getting “news”; rather that they are feeding us exactly what they want to in order to keep us glued to the screen and buying into their propaganda. And with the amount of false narratives they’ve been pushing out, you’re more likely to get “news” from independent journalists and articles than you are with the mainstream media and tech giant platforms.

Are our own mental gymnastics giving these outlets ways to manipulate us and keep us in the dark (literally and figuratively)?

Visual Images

Along with auditory and mental impressions, there are also quick, flashing images that were attempted in order to sway the public to a certain way of thinking or acting. Here are a couple of sites delving into some manipulative tactics that business have used to try and trick your mind, and different brand logos that may have lasting impressions on us that we might not have even realized.

7 Sneaky Subliminal Messages Hidden in Ads

11 Examples of Effective Subliminal Advertising (And 5 That Aren’t)

There are other sneaky ways that advertisements, for one, have tried to eek their way into our unconscious and subconscious. Strategically placed items or visual stimuli have been employed to try and persuade the public or be used as a background placement for ads within a tv show or sports game, for instance. And while ads in the background for a sports game is commonplace, it’s a different thing entirely to have it flashing constantly on a tv show meant to immerse the viewers in the supernatural tale it’s trying to tell (which is, ironically, based on mind control experimentation that allegedly really did happen in the Montauk Project that the government conducted).

Now besides just using subliminal messages for advertisements, for some reason, certain marketing companies and the entertainment industry have a strange habit of wanting to implement sexualized messages into everything they’re dishing out. Whether it’s for cigarettes, alcohol, food, even to cartoons/movies/toys geared for kids. This extremely bizarre and depraved act could be an agenda of sorts in order to “condition” the public and normalizing these situations. There will be more on this subject when we get into “Symbolism in the Media”, but I wanted to touch on this subject in this post to help people be aware of the subliminal conditioning that these corrupt agencies are (and have been for years) getting the mainstream public geared up for.

Honestly, and I am a self-professed “conspiracy theorist” (although I don’t use that term derogatorily – since it literally behooves one to be a conspiracy theorist in this day and age) – I think all of this attempt on our minds and conditioning us for specific things all boils down to a spiritual battle, one that we’re ill-equipped to deal with if we don’t start being consciously aware of the hold that these outside sources can have on us.

So what do you think? Do you think you’re immune to all of these outside sources influencing your thoughts without your knowledge? Are you consciously aware of your surroundings at all times in order to resist these assaults on your mind? While some may be harmless and merely an intriguing look into the way we make decisions, others can have far more alternative results.

(And how far do these subliminal messages reach?)

An interesting show that might shed a little more light into our perceptions and the way our mind works, is Brain Games, which covers a multitude of different subjects and really makes one wonder how our thought process works (or doesn’t work, in some cases). You might be able to catch a few episodes on different platforms, but if all else fails, research and investigation into our consciousness and thoughts would be beneficial as well.

Fact checking is extremely important. I want to reiterate not to take everything at face value; no matter what you read, where you read it from, or who you hear it from. And to be clear, do not rely on “fact checking” websites to give you accurate information either. These are just as likely, (if not even more likely…), to feed false information and false debunking accounts to manipulate the reader. Please take everything into consideration before adhering to a certain narrative – and always keep your mind open to other possibilities.

Welcome to the 4th part of this series “Does Media Affect Our Thoughts” – “Media Experiments”.

Link to part 1 – Violence in Entertainment
Link to part 2 – Propaganda in the Media
Link to Part 3 – Media Addiction

With the advent of the technological age, most of us don’t realize that we are unwitting pawns in the directive of who controls the media. And it’s not just the media controllers that have a hand in our lives. No, even regular working class joes and janes will push the boundaries and see what they can get away with in order to manipulate us to a certain outcome.

I give some examples below, but this is by no means an exhaustive list. One key takeaway to glean from these, be aware and discerning and don’t fall into the trap of believing everything you see; and be conscious of who you are, not what society expects you to be.

I start off with the lights subjects first. But beware. It turns dark, quick.

Experiment #1: How can we get more likes as an influencer/celebrity/politician, etc. so that we can get more marketing; therefore make more money or push for a particular agenda?

Solution: Instead of being honest and letting our work speak for itself, let’s just push the agenda by buying FAKE followers. Then, once we gain fake popularity, people will think we’re worth it and effectively buy into whatever we’re selling/vouching for.

Ever wonder how someone can seem so famous, especially as if overnight?
This could be how: Social Media Experiments Reveals How Easy it is to Create Fake Instagram Accounts and Make Money From Them

This video reveals that some celebrities buy followers on social media: Instagram/Twitter, etc. to make their accounts more prominent: Celebrities Pay for Fake Followers on Social Media

This article highlights some of the practices that occur with scammers “businesses” like Devumi: The Follower Factory

Are you following someone because you truly want to “keep up with the Kardashians”? Or do you feel as if, “well, everyone else is (seems to be) doing it. If I don’t do it too, then I’m out of the loop.”

We are being manipulated and tested to seeing how to sway the public opinion. And we are tricked and deceived into following a particular brand. If we see someone getting popular, then our instinct is usually to go with the crowd and join in, even if we don’t necessarily agree with it.

Here is just one of the ways that the public is being experimented on and played with. We are just game pieces for the “higher echelon’s” enjoyment and being exploitated for the “influencers’” and “celebrities’” benefit. How about we step off the chessboard?

Experiment #2: How can I make money easily online?

Solution: Create a sob story and make it go viral, then set up a GoFundMe website or something similar.

Sadly, this has worked all too well. And, in hindsight, I don’t want this article to be a “guide” in how to scam people for their money. But I do want to bring some of these possibilities to light so that you know what kinds of things people will do to trick and deceive others.

To help someone in need is an action all of us should take, monetary wise or not.

But unfortunately, this altruistic desire to help others is a beacon for those who will take advantage of and abuse these people’s good will.

Such is the case with the deception of the D’Amico/McClure/Bobbitt scheme to create a GoFundMe page for a homeless veteran who gave McClure $20 to fill up her tank when she ran out of gas. Of course, the whole story was fabricated; but indeed, preying on the kind-heartedness of strangers, their GoFundMe page reached $400,000!

Thankfully, after finding out about this deceit, GoFundMe refunded everyone who contributed to this fictitious account.

And how did the true story come to light?

Apparently, greed triumphed in this story and led to their ruin. It was revealed that D’Amico and McClure chose to keep the money and didn’t give Bobbitt his proper share. So Bobbitt took them to court, and it’s here that the true story came out.

Imagine. If they had just shared the money to begin with like agreed upon, no one would have been any the wiser and they wouldn’t have gotten caught. (Probably… it’s interesting what kind of curveballs life likes to throw at us. Especially when we deserve it.) – Mastermind of Infamous GoFundMe Homeless Scam Facing 5 Year Sentence

Speaking of GoFundMe, isn’t it interesting that according to this site: thepostmillennial.com, GoFundMe deletes a “black Trump supporter’s fundraiser for bulletproof vests”, yet “keeps Antifa’s identical fundraiser up”?

Not to mention the very own campaign that GoFundMe itself endorsed for Planned Parenthood.

I cannot even get into this topic right now (or ever) without getting triggered, so I will just leave you with these sites   so you can determine for yourself why I am not impartial when it comes to this subject:

There’s too much other details to go into here, so I am going to leave it at that for now. Please research this and stop supporting this organization if you do.

Experiment #3: Let’s see what would happen if we tell people that they’re a match with someone, when they’re really not. That sounds like fun, right? Deliberately misleading people just to see what the outcome will be? Let’s do it.

Solution: OkCupid fessed up to doing this in 2014: OKCupid Proudly Admits it Experiments on People All the Time

But you know, it’s okay, everyone. Because like Christian Rudder (one of the founders of OkCupid) says, “But guess what, everybody: if you use the Internet, you’re the subject of hundreds of experiments at any given time, on every site. That’s how websites work.”

Silly us. We should just come to accept that we’re being lied and manipulated and experimented on at businesses’ bidding, because “that’s how websites work”.

Huh. And here I thought, as OkCupid’s About page implies:

  • We ask questions: We ask questions about things you care about. (So we can turn around and use it against you.)
  • And connect you on what matters: There are some things you should know before the date. On OkCupid, we help you find people you’re really compatible with. (That way we can skewer the results and pair you with someone completely opposite at our whim. How lovely!)
  • No matter what you’re looking for: No matter who you are, no matter what you’re looking for, OkCupid helps you find meaningful connections – whatever that means to you. (Except when we don’t.)

For disclaimer purposes, I am obliged to let you know that the sentences in parenthesis/gray are my own highlights of what I’ve gleaned from Christian Rudder’s statements and doesn’t reflect that of OkCupid itself. : ) …(Unless it does. Who knows?)

…that they’re a responsible, caring administration that just wants to help people connect with those they’re compatible with. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Experiment #4: Can we manipulate how people feel simply by changing what content they’re exposed to? Let’s find out!

Solution: Indeed, Facebook carried out this exact experiment in 2012, concluding that yes, it can affect our moods. (Makes one wonder how else media can, and has, been manipulating our feelings and emotions… And I wouldn’t doubt, in the slightest, that this was not the first experiment of its kind…)

In 2012 Facebook conducted a massive experiment on its users, unbeknownst to them. The social media giant manipulated the news feeds of 689,003 people for one week, prioritizing either positive or negative emotional content. They then tracked the updates that the unwitting users posted, to see if they had been influenced by the manipulated feeds.

What they found was that they could essentially make their users feel happier or sadder, in a process called ‘emotional contagion’. The study concluded by saying: “Emotions expressed by friends, via online social networks, influence our own moods, constituting, to our knowledge, the first experimental evidence for massive-scale emotional contagion via social networks.”

While completely legal, we all sign up for Facebook voluntarily after all, the ethics of such mass manipulation are questionable. “People are supposed to be told they are going to be participants in research and then agree to it and have the option not to agree to it without penalty.” One academic said in response to the controversial experiment.

The power that social media networks are beginning to exert over our lives is of increasing concern. Do you trust Facebook to look after your best interests? Or are you leaving yourself open to emotional manipulation for the benefit of advertisers? The study, while controversial, has opened a deeper discussion about online ethics and privacy, which can only be a good thing. (Source: Forbes)

boredpanda.com

Facebook is, of course, not the only form of media to try and manipulate how the public feels. The news media does it all the time. And if we’re honest with the whole media system and ourselves, we’ll come to realize that the music, movie, tv industry does it as well. Music manipulates our feelings – creating a sadness, happiness, sweetness, anger, frustration… news media has been proven to show us mostly negative news.

If it Bleeds, it Leads: Understanding Fear-based Media

Why? Well, turns out, we’re our own worst enemies. Their ratings show an increase when there’s negative news shown, than a positive one. So can we really blame the news media for always depicting violent and negative news stories? We’re perpetuating it when we tune in to see it.

Knowing what’s going on in the world is important, but with the rise of evidence of how much the news media (media in general) has been lying and manipulating us, are we sure what we’re seeing is even real?

“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.” William Casey, CIA Director (1981)

Experiment #5: What would happen with a group of children, if we allowed them to play a “medium” violent game like Minecraft, and exposed them to real guns?

Solution: Not pretty.

As I have covered in part 1 of this series, violence in the media most certainly does have an effect on our minds, whether we realize it or not. Perhaps once we are more acclimatized and aware of this, it no longer has a hold on us. But for children, most are not yet mentally sound in making these observations. (Nor are some adults, if we’re going to be completely honest…)

Which is why this experiment (if real – have to add that in light of everything…) should be a huge eye-opener in regards to how children think, especially after what they are already exposed to.

Bizarre Experiment Shows How Video Games Change the Way Kids Treat Real Guns

Now perhaps these children simply thought the guns were fake. After all, they were ushered in to a room and told they could play with the toys in the room after their foray into the Minecraft game. And as some participants concluded, they figured they would not be let into a room by researchers where real guns would be exposed. So considering these factors, it’s not the most airtight of experiments, but still raises some very important concerns. It still prompted the child to sometimes pull the trigger on these guns, aiming at themselves sometimes as well as the other child in the room, while all they had to go on was an assumption that it wasn’t real. And in the cases that they did think it was real, is even scarier.

Moral of the story: For the love of everything holy, lock up your guns and teach your children gun safety. And teach them about violence in games and the media and to be aware of their surroundings and emotions. And teach them morals and integrity.

Experiment #6: How do people react to stress, when their values and beliefs are ridiculed and mocked? Let’s strap them to a chair, and force them to confront someone verbally attack them by making personal insults to their beliefs and character, and find out.

Oh! And make them relive this event by watching a video of this mentally and psychologically degrading act of themselves getting their beliefs attacked, over and over again for 3 years!

Solution: At least in one of the most tragically prolific accounts, it might have contributed to the infamous Unabomber case, Ted Kaczynski.

Think the media only has to do with “mass media”? Like the news, radio, internet, etc.?

Nope. In this case, not only did Ted Kaczynski and other participants get subjected to humiliating and malicious attacks on their most honest and heartfelt views, but they were also forced to relive this very moment, over and over again by watching a video that was recorded of their own, personal “interrogation”.

It’s heartbreaking that this would be allowed to continue. Unfortunately, psychological experiments are alive and well. Of course, usually the details don’t emerge until much later, when it’s usually too late to reverse any of the damage. Why do these experiments continue to rage on? Who funds these?

Well… in this particular case, we are guided by this bit of information:

In 1948 he (Henry Murray – the “unethical researcher” – my words) sent a grant application to the Rockefeller Foundation proposing “the development of a system of procedures for testing the suitability of officer candidates for the navy.” By 1950 he had resumed studies on Harvard undergraduates that he had begun, in rudimentary form, before the war, titled “Multiform Assessments of Personality Development Among Gifted College Men.” The experiment in which Kaczynski participated was the last and most elaborate in the series. In their postwar form these experiments focused on stressful dyadic relations, designing confrontations akin to those mock interrogations he had helped to orchestrate for the OSS.

theatlantic.com

Let that soak in.

We also know that Henry Murray, the cruel scientist that initiated this study:

“served in the Office of Strategic Services, the forerunner of the CIA, helping to develop psychological screening tests for applicants and (according to Timothy Leary) monitoring military experiments on brainwashing.”

theatlantic.com

As for Ted Kaczynski, reading his background in depth, one could easily reach the conclusion that this was an extremely bright young man, having skipped 2 grades, getting accepted into Harvard before he was 16, and was even labeled as “the most intellectual serial killer the nation has ever produced” by a  criminologist. Don’t think that should be an honorary status… but I hope you know what I was going for with that sentence.

And despite his vindictiveness and propensity for violence (which may have well been born out of this heinous psychological experiment), he was still able to come to this interesting conclusion: (very relatable, especially in these highly technological times):

Gradually, while he was immersed in his Harvard readings and in the Murray experiment, Kaczynski began to put together a theory to explain his unhappiness and anger. Technology and science were destroying liberty and nature. The system, of which Harvard was a part, served technology, which in turn required conformism. By advertising, propaganda, and other techniques of behavior modification, this system sought to transform men into automatons, to serve the machine.

One can now only ponder the “what ifs”.

  • What if, instead of being ushered into Harvard and such a young age by his father, despite advice from his friend, Ted stayed with his family – surrounded by love and compassion, and went to college when appropriate?
  • What if, instead of partaking in this experiment (in which Ted and the other participants were lied to about), these young gentlemen carried out their college years in peace?
  • What if these experiments didn’t exist at all? No twisted, wicked experiments to conduct on the innocent (or on the enemies) and no one had to be psychologically damaged from the repercussions?
  • What if people were morally guided by strong, virtuous ethics and not by a corrupted view for a one world government; stomping and experimenting on everyone and everything they deem expendable or for their own gain?

Oh… did I forget to mention that? Yes, sorry about that:

(Henry Murray) advocated implementing the agenda of the World Federalist Association, which called for a single world government. The atomic bomb, Murray wrote in a letter to Mumford, “is the logical & predictable result of the course we have been madly pursuing for a hundred years.” The choice now facing humanity, he added, was “One World or No World.

How do we escape these manipulative tactics and experiments?

Simply?

Don’t partake in them. Or at least reduce your media viewing and use. And yes, I know the irony of using the media to read this, so perhaps it should be to balance media use between necessity, entertainment, and important research. (But light on the entertainment.)

I have never had a facebook account, or a Twitter, Instagram, etc. I don’t have cable. I do have youtube simply to build a playlist, but I predict a time that youtube will do away with accounts that aren’t gaining any monetary status, or that aren’t following a certain narrative, for example.

Of course they’re allowed to do that. All of these tech/media giants are allowed to do whatever they wish, essentially; including banning, censoring, deleting… the list goes on and on. Which is the point. They shouldn’t be allowed to carry on manipulating and lying to us about our own data. Yet it continues. But if we step off the platform, then of course their game pieces go missing and they wouldn’t be able to sabotage anyone anymore. And anyone who has any integrity in their body would realize this and not bank the system to let it continue.

Just my two cents.

Now for the experiments that we have no idea we’re even a part of? Or that people have been lied to about?

That’s another story. That’s when these establishments need to be held accountable for it. Not tomorrow. Not 15 years from now. Before it even begins. There are ethic laws, and it’s unfair and unjust that these corporations get to bend it and twist it for “their” greater good. Not ours.

Some of these mild experiments are annoying, yes. But others, are considered Crimes Against Humanity. They shouldn’t be allowed to happen and the establishments that carry these and other terrible experiments out should answer for that.

In part 5, I address data-mining for our information. As The Social Dilemma mentions, “we’re the product.”
Part 6 goes into the wonderful world of bots and trolls.

Violence in Entertainment – Does Media Affect Our Thoughts? pt. 1

Think you think for yourself?
Well, think again.

When I was younger, I used to think that all the people that claimed that violence on t.v., movies, music, etc. made an impression on us, were ridiculous. I ardently believed that people were conscious enough to come to their own decisions and thought patterns, and ridiculed those that speculated otherwise.

Perhaps that was me jumping on the bandwagon of mocking the alleged “conspiracy theorists”. Calling them crazy and uninformed.

Well who's laughing now?

(Well, I suppose it’s no laughing matter, but at least I’ve finally come to the realization that I was wrong.)

Before I delve in, what do you think? Are you here on this page because you believe the same thing? Or are you here because you think it’s a ridiculous concept like I once did?

Disclaimer: This website promotes love, kindness and compassion. However, in order to strive towards that, we must also expose the negativity surrounding us on a day to day basis. This post delves into some dark material that we should be aware of in order to guide us towards a better future.

This is part 1 of a 10 part series, starting with “Violence in Entertainment”.

Pt. 1: Violence in Entertainment -

From everything such as t.v., movies, music, video games... watching violent movies, shows, playing violent video games, or listening to hate-filled music has inspired some horrible crimes.

It’s no surprise that violence in entertainment is on this list. Whether people have been inspired to commit horrible crimes due to scenes they’ve seen on the big screen, or whether they wanted to duplicate the actions of their favorite video games. Being compelled by an outside source into acts of violence can certainly interfere with the mind.

One thing (out of many) that we need to take into account are who these individuals are, and what kind of lifestyle they were in.

How true is nature vs. nurture?

Well, for starters, there are scientific studies into various genes, such as the “warrior gene (MOAO)”, which allegedly predisposes you to be naturally more violent.

Now imagine (if these studies are fact) that a person carrying the warrior gene not only grew up as a young child watching and playing all these violent video games and movies, but also lacking proper supervision and guidance? Even if a child didn’t have this warrior gene, watching non-stop videos or playing games of violence with guns and knives and murder is bound to corrupt the child.

A geneticist, Dean Hamer, allegedly discovered the “God gene”, which can help determine how spiritually sound one is, and the “gay gene”, which obviously is to determine if someone is more likely to prefer the opposite gender.

There was also a video (hotly debated as to it’s authenticity) which showed a presentation at the pentagon that proposed a “Funvax” – a vaccine which would suppress this gene; making people lose their belief in God – specifically targeting the “religious fanatics”, as the presenter stated. You can watch the video here.

Rudolph Steiner, a well-known philosopher back in the early 1900’s, was talking about this very agenda over 100 years ago. – source

Honestly, this topic is a fascinating study into our mind, body, and the potential implications it has on our soul. There have also been contested issues about using us without our knowledge into manipulating our genetic make-up; thereby taking away our free will to live as we were created to.

The ways “they” have proposed to do this (if not already have and possibly still doing)? Using vaccines, as the aforementioned video states, medication, chem trails, gay bombs – (yes, the pentagon actually pushed for this idea), and microchips – implanted into the mind and/or body.

Are you okay with having your body and mind manipulated against your will? Are we sure they’re not doing these things already?

The psychological make-up of some do raise up the issue that, perhaps the people that are committing crimes due to “entertainment”, have some sort of mental health issues already. It has been implied that those that try and duplicate video game violence already have a history of abuse and violence. Either as the perpetrator, or the receiver. Perhaps even both.

Which begs the question… if that’s the case, then why are they allowed to play such violent video games in the first place? Or watch violent movies? Aren’t there tv, movie, video game ratings that help people in determining what may be suitable for a child/teen/adult? Maybe part of the problem is that adults don’t necessarily adhere to these recommended ratings.

This isn’t mentioned to condemn anyone. And perhaps some people still don’t believe that media can influence someone. But there are multiple studies that would prove otherwise.

Personal Experience

And I, myself, highly regret making some of the choices I have made with my then 8-year old child. Taking him to a PG-13 movie, which you wouldn’t think is that bad, but this particular movie gave him nightmares. And not only that, he was also stressed that he may act out in a violent manner. Which is incredibly heartbreaking for any parent to hear. You can imagine my deep guilt and grief for seeing him struggle with such a dilemma.

Imagine that. An 8-year old, making the consciously aware confession that he’s afraid he’ll do something violent. (All from watching a PG-13 movie.) I was devastated, and made amends immediately to shower him with reassurance and love and support. Thankfully, he grew out of this phase. But it was certainly terrifying for a moment.

(And I didn’t even mention the fact that a family member was going to let my son (at 9) play GTA V… – I DON’T THINK SO.)

Other questions we must ask are: are they being abused? Physically, mentally, verbally? If so, by who and why hasn’t it stopped? And again, even if they were “wired wrong to begin with”, as one article put it, and that’s why they were so impressionable with a video game, then it is still pointing to them being affected by the game.

What if they had never been exposed to these violent scenes? What if, instead, they grew up in a loving environment, never being abused, and not corrupted by society’s sometimes twisted view into conformity?

Then we have the fact that most studies have shown that an average time a child/teen spends in front of a television set (watching movies, shows, playing video games, etc.) is around 6 and a half hours. I think most of us can agree that a child (especially at such a young age) is extremely impressionable and likely to duplicate what they see on television or on video games.

Without proper guidance, these same children will not know that the actions depicted on screen is very different than that of real life. Plus take into account that by watching so much violence and cruelty in the first place, has actually been linked to desensitization and apathy.

Add that to all the negativity we see on the big screen, which has allegedly had a hand in influencing some heinous crimes, and it makes one wonder if people are as in control of what they think… as they think they are.

What About Music?

Music also has a link in consciously affecting us. Perhaps even in a subliminal way that we’re not even aware of at the moment.

I’m sure there have been instances where you’ve heard a song, tons of times, but one day, out of the blue, the lyrics just HIT you. Even though you’ve sung the song multiple times before. You may not have even realized what you were singing.

It’s amazing what having a child will make you aware of. For some people, that is. Some are still unaware of the ramifications that media can have on their child; or on themselves, for that matter.

I came to this harsh realization, not only with the PG-13 example I mentioned above, but also another time while sitting at a restaurant. They were playing “Loser”, by Beck.

I knew this song; even sung the lyrics here and there when I was younger. But never did the full implications of the lyrics hit me than it did while sitting at that restaurant with my 5 year old son while waiting for food. I was almost in disbelief that they would play that song. A family establishment. And let me get this straight. I never had any issues with that song before. But while listening to the lyrics:

“With the rerun shows and the cocaine nose-job”

“He hung himself with a guitar string”

and, of course, the popular chorus line:

“I’m a loser baby, so why don’t you kill me?

I was suddenly acutely aware of the words.

Now you may argue that with my son being 5 he most likely wouldn’t understand those lyrics. And even if I agreed with you, that still wouldn’t excuse this establishment from playing this song. Perhaps they were, also, blissfully unaware of the connotations that media can impose on the mind. (And it’s not only the weak-minded.)

But I would also propose that they knew exactly what they were doing. After all, having a family member that used to work in fast food, they were specifically given a tape of music to play for their customers that played the same set of songs, over and over and over again.

(More marketing and advertisement schemes? Perhaps. Only those at the “top” know for sure.)

Regardless of the intentions, or lack thereof, the fact of the matter remained. I was uncomfortable with my son overhearing that song. Perhaps you may think I’m being too sensitive. But I submit that we’re not being sensitive enough.

There’s another aspect that it is not the music itself that drives one to suicide or violence. Perhaps people that are already in that mindset seek out these kind of music, instead of the music influencing their thoughts.

That could be the case. But I would also argue that if that is true, then the people who seek out this type of music certainly don’t help their own awareness in getting out of their negative mentality. If anything, it would only exacerbate it.

Perhaps we should look to ourselves to make the conscious decision to not listen to these types of music; or at least have a well-grounded view and control over our own thoughts before we do.

(On a personal note, I love some rock music. But I am aware of the affects it can have on my mentality, much less that of a young child or teen. One of my good friends was obsessed with Avenged Sevenfold’s I won’t See You Tonight Parts 1 and 2. He was always depressed. Was he depressed because he was listening to these sad, tragic songs? Or was his depression attracting him to listen to these types of music?)

As we will see in future parts to this series, media definitely does not only affect children. In part 2, I tackle the effect that news media has on our minds, from political propaganda to encouraging riots and division. In part 3, I address the sad hold that media addiction can have over us.

Stay tuned.
