There’s a quote in the Bible that states: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”. – Matthew 5:43-44
The reason, of course, is that anyone, even a cruel, horrible dictator, can love their own mother, spouse or child, or friend, for example, so how would that separate them from a “righteous” person? It is easy to love “one of our own”, is it not? But how much harder, how much holier, would it be to love someone who stands for everything you don’t?
I think this is the key that we need to realize when living our lives, since, especially this year, for some reason, the radical thoughts from all sides of the fence seem to hold one another in contempt, hostility, anger, hatred, scorn, derision. The act of compassion and kindness for fellow human beings has been on a decline and people are losing friendships, relationships with family, their common decency…
The amount of separation for all sorts of reasons has turned us against each other when we should be coming together. If you’re for Trump or against him. If you’re a mask-wearer or refuse to wear one. If you’re anti-vax or not. If you’re pro-life or pro-choice. If you’re black or white. If you’re male, female, lgbtq, etc., etc., etc., etc… What religion, if any, you follow…
There is so much division and we’ve lost sight of freedom of thought and speech and our tolerance and understanding for each other that instead of seeing us all as brothers and sisters lost in the same world and just trying to make sense of things, we’ve become each other’s enemy. Anyone that opposes our own views have now become our opponent and we reject and shun these people for being on the “wrong side”.
And honestly, no matter who is on the “right side” or the “wrong side”, I propose that if we’re taking part in this separation and intolerance of each other, then we are automatically on the wrong side, plain and simple. You might think you’re on the “right side”, but what does that mean, exactly? Does it mean shutting out those who oppose you and fighting them tooth and nail to try and see things your way? Or does it mean to open your arms and welcome them with love and sincerity and compassion?
Here is another quote to love our enemies, “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” – Luke 6:27-28
Now, when I see this verse, nowhere in it does it say to try and change their beliefs. It doesn’t say to mock or scorn them. It doesn’t say to hate them and cast them aside. It tells us to love them, pray for them, bless them, do good to them… This is what holiness is. Loving those who hate us and praying for them.
The title of this article is about a change of heart, though. Is this possible? Can we pray for our enemies to have a change of heart? Can we pray for anyone to have a change of heart? Wouldn’t this be infringing upon their free will? Or is it an example of us trying to intercede on behalf of those who “know not what they do”? “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” – Luke 23:34
Perhaps the verse doesn’t mean to pray for a change of heart for them, but simply asking God to have mercy on them. Maybe even a prayer of both. Change of heart and forgiveness.
Below I have submitted 4 examples of a soul(s) experiencing a change of heart. The first one is debatable, of course, because it comes from a gnostic source, and may not be a change of heart so much as a response of fear, but I thought it was a fascinating entry into this article so wanted to submit it. Take it with a grain of salt, and the possibility of “what if?”
1. Fallen Angels Petition for Forgiveness
In the Book of Enoch, a Gnostic text that was not included in the canon Bible, it tells the story about Enoch and his relationship with “the Watchers”, a group of angels whose job it was to “watch over humans”. However, 200 of these Watchers became corrupted and came to Earth to procreate with the women and take upon themselves a wife and taught them the secrets of Heaven. The nephilim were born, and with that came evil spirits and, mainly due to the teachings of Azazyel, “taught every species of iniquity upon earth”.
This, of course, was a grievous sin and set in motion God’s decree to banish them away and inflict upon them punishment not only for themselves, but also their offspring.
Due to the fear of the Lord’s wrath, the Watchers appealed to Enoch and begged him to plead on their behalf to God for forgiveness.
5 And they all became terrified, and trembled;
6 Beseeching me to write for them a memorial of supplication, that they might obtain forgiveness; and that I might make the memorial of their prayer ascend up before the God of heaven; because they could not themselves thenceforwards address him, nor raise up their eyes to heaven on account of the disgraceful offence for which they were judged.
7 Then I wrote a memorial of their prayer and supplications, for their spirits, for everything which they had done, and for the subject of their entreaty, that they might obtain remission and rest.
– Book of Enoch 13:5-7
The response Enoch gets from his vision with God on the Watcher’s plea is very telling:
Go, say to the Watchers of heaven, who have sent you to pray for them, You ought to pray for men, and not men for you.
– Book of Enoch 15:1
This is interesting in that it is taking a man, interceding on behalf of those who are supposed to be holy and the ones who are supposed to be the protectors of man; but the situation is reversed, with the man essentially trying to protect the fallen holy ones from the wrath of God. Even though these fallen angels have technically become the enemy of humankind by introducing all sorts of sin and iniquity and evil spirits unleashed upon the world, this man is still praying for them and showing mercy on them.
And these fallen angels, knowing God and the punishment they are about to receive, either due to fear and/or the repercussions of their misdeeds, are now begging for mercy. Is this “a change of heart” per se? Or simply concern over their own well-being? Do they truly repent of their actions? Or are they simply afraid of the retribution they’re about to behold?
If this account is true, have they taken steps to atone for their sins? And are they trying to right their wrongs? If they truly had a change of heart and actually repented, they would be working on a salvation that they know they might possibly not receive, just to try to make things right.
How many of us humans would forgive these fallen angels for “ruining” the world? How many of us could pray and intercede for them knowing that they’re the reason the world is in a state of despair?
2. Howard Storm (Ex-Atheist)
If you’ve read some of my other posts, I mention near death experiences as a catalyst for some of my beliefs because of a few experiences I had that led me to them. I wasn’t near death, but the messages between my experiences and the nde’s were eerily similar which is what steered me in that direction to begin with.
Howard Storm’s testimony is probably one of the most prominent accounts of this phenomena, since he has encountered not only demons and angels, but Jesus Christ Himself. And this is when he was an atheist.
He tells the story of how he was a very manipulative and prideful professor. He would scorn and deride people who believe in God. Anything he did, was usually for his own benefit.
During his near death experience, he first encountered beings who were leading him down a gray, foggy path and he eventually realized that these beings were demons, who turned on him and started torturing him. But soon a voice within him spoke up and told him to “pray to God”. He lamented that he didn’t know how to pray, but after a couple of more prompts he finally was able to speak whatever saying had God’s name in it. “God bless America.” “The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want…”, etc. To his surprise, this enraged the demons and they started yelling and cussing at him that God doesn’t exist. This only encouraged him even more.
Pretty soon, he was left alone in this dark, foggy mist; broken, torn and hopeless. After awhile, he again heard a voice within himself:
I heard very clearly, once again in my own voice, something that I had learned in nursery Sunday School. It was the little song, “Jesus loves me, yes I know …” and it kept repeating. I don’t know why, but all of a sudden I wanted to believe that. Not having anything left, I wanted to cling to that thought. And I, inside, screamed, “Jesus, please save me.”
To his astonishment, Jesus did. In his testimony, he relays how Jesus Christ as a being of light came to him and took him out of this pit of despair and showed him many things, including his life review. He realized that he had been treating people the wrong way and was coached into how we should treat people – “love the one you’re with”.
A few other mentions of this guidance are the following that they told Howard Storm:
They explained to me that their concern was for all the people of the world. They weren’t interested in one group getting ahead of other groups. They want every person to consider every other person greater than their own flesh. They want everyone to love everyone else, completely; more, even, than they love themselves. If someone, someplace else in the world hurts, than we should hurt we should feel their pain. And we should help them.
Howard Storm recorded how his light being friends told him, in 1985, that the Cold War would soon end, because, “God is changing the hearts of people to love around the world.”
Due to this experience, Howard Storm himself had a change of heart. He went from an avowed atheist, scorning others and thinking he was above them, to a humble believer, even quitting his job as an art professor, and becoming a Christian minister. He has ministered to many others about Jesus Christ and to love others.
3. Ronald Bernard (ex-banker)
Ronald Bernard is a Dutch man who has told his story on various platforms including youtube, that you can watch here:
This video shows English subtitles and an English voice-over as well. There are other videos that are translated in other languages and just have subtitles if that is preferred. I put this video to start at 23:00 which, I feel, thrusts us into the culmination of his testimony and lasts for around 5-6 minutes, but I encourage the reader to watch the whole video for a better understanding of his history.
EDIT (November 29, 2020): This original article came out on November 17, 2020 when I posted this youtube video. However, it is now apparently set to private… very odd.
Here is a link of the same video from bitchute:
Ex Dutch Banker Ronald Bernard Exposes the Elite (Part 1,2,3)
His is an eye-opening and somber account of his days working with what many accuse of as the “elite”, or the “global leaders”, “zionists”, “illuminati”… there are many words that people attribute to this group, whether it is just speculation or true is still up for debate among the theorists. But one thing seems to be clear, a cabal certainly exists.
As he tells it, he used to work for this group and even seemed to have the same personality and belief (or non-belief) structures as them. That they were the ones in power with the money and authority, and everyone else was just pawns and beneath them. He would laugh and scorn with the others when someone lost their livelihood and he didn’t care about other’s terrible plight.
One example he gave was when an owner went bankrupt due to their handling of a financial situation, and the owner committed suicide, leaving a family behind. Ronald admits that he and his comrades laughed at this tragic misfortune. In his own words, “We looked down on people, mocked them, it was just a product, waste, everything was worthless trash.”
In fact, he even knew of the dark, corrupted agendas behind a lot of the twisted organizations that were within his entrepreneurial circle. He knew about human trafficking, drugs, creating wars and financial crisis – since he was the one handling some of the monetary situations it called for him to basically turn a blind eye to all of this depravity and deception.
And eventually, it would all culminate and lead him into a change of heart.
The tipping point, he says, happened during an event that he was invited to. At first he was invited to the smaller parties and some of the activities they participated in even amused him. Since he didn’t believe in God or the devil, he was mostly entertained with their debauched revelry. It wasn’t until they asked of him a very serious initiation rite, did he finally crack and his conscience broke through.
They asked him to sacrifice a child.
It was this that finally reached through to Ronald Bernard’s cold heart and he realized that the spiritual battle between good and evil is true.
For those that don’t think this is happening in today’s society, Ronald’s testimony brings us back to the biblical accounts and reminds us that these sacrificial practices and immorality never stopped. These certain factions have continued their depraved lifestyle and still work behind the veil to “honor” their false idols and “gods”.
If someone like Ronald Bernard could have a change of heart while being in the midst of these wicked and depraved individuals, we can only hope and pray that others will follow suit and turn towards the love and light instead of remaining in the evil and darkness that threatens to corrupt their soul. As long as you are still living, you have the chance at redemption but you must start NOW. We don’t know when Jesus will return, but I pray that you (and us all) will be ready when He does.
4. Howard Pittman (Christian minister)
Howard Pittman is another person who has had a near death experience which has enlightened him to the reality of the life he was really living.
At first, when he was taken to God and approached Him with a plea to return to his physical life, he truly felt as if everything he had done in his life was for God. He had ministered about Him, testified about Jesus Christ, and earnestly thought he had lived a life pleasing to God.
However, upon hearing God’s awesome voice about the truth of the matter, Howard Pittman was faced with the condemning fact that everything he had done, was really only for himself. He took pride in his own ministry and gave himself credit for doing such great work, although God revealed to him that he was doing all of this “work” solely to save himself and soothe his own conscience, instead of for the genuine love he has for God and Jesus and humankind.
The sound of His voice came down on me from over the Gates even before the words hit me. The tone of His anger knocked me on my face as God proceeded to tell me just what kind of life I had really lived. He told me what He really thought of me and even others who did as I had. He pointed out that my faith was DEAD, that my works were NOT ACCEPTABLE, and that I had labored in VAIN. He told me that it was an abomination for me to live such a life and then dare call it a life of worship. Furthermore, He said to those who do it, they are in danger of experiencing His everlasting wrath. As God dealt with me, He displayed His wrath to me. Notice, it was not His everlasting wrath. He did say there are some who will experience His everlasting wrath.
I could not believe He was talking to me in this manner! I had served Him for years! I thought I had lived a life pleasing to Him! As He was enumerating my wrongs, I was sure He had me confused with someone else. There was no strength left in me to even move, let alone protest, yet I was panicking within myself. No way He could be talking about me! All of these years I thought I was doing those works for God! Now He was telling me that what I did, I did for myself. Even as I preached and testified about the saving grace of Jesus Christ, I was doing that only for myself in order that my conscience might be soothed. In essence, my first love and first works were for myself. After MY needs and wants were met or satisfied, in order to soothe my conscience I would set out to do the Lord’s work. This made my priorities out of order and unacceptable. Actually, I had become my own false God.
It is a startling, chilling revelation made even starker by Pittman’s surety all through his life that he was doing the right thing. Imagine how many more Christians and believers have the same mentality. That they are saved and doing God’s good work, only to realize that deep inside, they are doing these things for show and to clear their own conscience.
God knows what’s inside our hearts. He knows if we are sincere in our actions and who are just going through the motions and speaking with their lips that they are believers, but not truly having faith and living a holy life that they should be. Howard Pittman was hit with this bleak epiphany that perfectly embodies the following verse:
Thanks to his experience, he was able to recognize and witness this prime example of his self-idolization and turned his life around to preaching about God and Jesus Christ with his heart, and implored others to do the same.
As long as their hearts remain in the world, they will be in danger of everlasting punishment. From the scriptures we clearly understand that wherever a man’s heart is, there his treasure is also: and that anyone whose heart is in the world will not even have his own soul to treasure.– Howard Pittman (near-death.com)
Yes, having a change of heart is possible. Praying for people, whether they are our enemies or a loved one, is important and something that is asked of us to remain walking with the Lord. His commandment is: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” – John 13:34
We are also asked to forgive one another. When people display a true, honest change of heart, how cruel would it be if we were to turn our backs on them and deny them any sort of mercy or understanding? Yes, some crimes and sins are absolutely deplorable and heartbreaking, but we must realize as well, are some of these actions being directed by an outside source that we are cannot yet comprehend? The testimonies from the above accounts mention fallen angels, demons, luciferian worship, etc. Perhaps us unsuspecting humans are susceptible to these evil spirits and this is what leads us to growing a cold, uncaring heart…
Of course, we should not simply blame these evil spirits for our misdeeds. After all, we have the choice to follow through with the actions or not due to our free will. It would be a damaging oversight to attribute all of our sins to outside forces especially since God knows what’s in our hearts and who would be genuinely misguided, and who is using this as an excuse to deny any kind of accountability.
As I’ve mentioned before, as long as you’re still breathing, you have the chance at redemption should you have a change of heart and seek love and truth. And if you are already on the “right path”, then I would ask of you to pray for others as well, that they may see the truth and seek forgiveness.
