“I believe in Pope Francis…”: Bizarre Pseudo-Creed recited at Mexican Parish (2020)
” I believe in Pope Francis as the legitimate Successor of the Apostle Peter. I believe that the Holy Ghost speaks to the Church through him. I believe that he guides the Catholic Church as a true Pastor. I believe that he is diligently concerned with all of humanity, because we are all brothers and sons of God. I believe in his magisterium, which is in perfect harmony with the faith and morals of the Church. I believe that his personal opinions reflect the evangelical attitude of the believers in Christ. I reject all offenses, aspersions, and insults towards his person. As for those who reject his authority, I affirm that they are in ecclesiastical error as much as in error of communion.
We ask all of this of Thee, O Lord, through Jesus Christ Our Lord.”
(While it is to be noted that the original Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed had been recited at its proper place, and the additional creed was spoken at the end, this example still signifies where the churches are heading (complete trust in man…). And we can’t discount other changes that are being made. Take the following for example):
United Methodists Remove ‘Father’ from Apostle’s Creed to Be More Gender Inclusive to God
(2018)
“United Methodists in the Minnesota Conference decided that referring to God as “Father” wasn’t inclusive enough for the 21st century United Methodist Church. At the conference, held May 30 through June 1, conference organizers omitted reference to God the Father. Instead, they changed the phrase “God the Father Almighty” to “God the Creator Almighty.” The creed passed out to attendees also removed the phrase, “Jesus Christ, His only Son” to “Jesus Christ, God’s only Son.”
